I am one of the most indecisive people on Earth and cannot seem to make a simple choice about what to do for the 4th of July this year. My husband and I will be celebrating our 1st anniversary during the holiday weekend as well! We live in Wyoming and will drive to Montana or Colorado during the first part of the weekend.
Here are the options:
1. Go to a Colorado Rockies game with fireworks on the 4th in Denver with my sister. Drive to Steamboat Springs on the 5th and stay two nights there. We would go on a hot air balloon ride, which I’ve always wanted to do, and go hiking. Then, drive to Saratoga, WY, to a resort with hot springs and stay two nights there. We received a gift card from friends for our wedding last year for the trip to Saratoga and haven’t used it yet. We would take a couple days off work and be back home on the 9th.
2. Drive to Montana for a 4th of July party with friends. We would drive partway on the 3rd and stay at my in-law’s house and finish the drive in the morning. This option is appealing because we don’t see these friends too often and parties are always fun! We would head home on the 6th and then go to Saratoga on either the 6th or 7th for two nights.
Either way, we’re planning to wrap things up with a trip to Saratoga. Both options require a fair amount of driving with option 1 being about 10 hours total and option 2 being about 17 hours total.
Option 2 is quite a bit cheaper as we would mostly be staying with friends/family but the money is not really an issue. The time off work is not an issue either.
One other thing to consider… we can go on the hot air balloon ride during another weekend this summer. I’ve been trying to decide if I would prefer a hot air balloon ride in the summer or winter… a few days ago I decided that it’d be great to go now because life is always so uncertain and if I really enjoyed it, we could go again sometime in the winter… but being so indecisive… I just don’t know!
Thanks so much for your help!
