AS A VERY HAPPILY MARRIED LADY !!
*HUGE Smiley Face*
— — —
As the title says… it has been quite the adventure.
And although it feels like eons since I was last on WBee, it also feels like the time passed by very quickly while I was away on my Wedding & Honeymoon.
Mr TTR and I left home just before Christmas on an extended vacation… and wedding trip. And since then have covered a HUGE amount of territory.
Driving from Canada thru the USA via New York State – Pennsylvania – Maryland – West Virginia – Virginia – and North Carolina to our intended explorations of the US Southern States of South Carolina – Georgia – Alabama – Tennessee – Arkansas – Mississippi – Louisiana… and then back thru the Alabama Gulf Coast to Florida… where we continued south thru Florida to the Florida Keys and the southernmost point in the continental United States…Key West (which is where we actually married)
A trip that saw us enjoying the “flavours” of the South… be it thru Food, Culture, Geography, History or Music (Country – Blues – Zydeco – Jazz)
Before boarding a cruise ship for our Caribbean Honeymoon, where we furthered our discoveries on the islands of Puerto Rico – Barbados – St Lucia – Antigua – Sint Maarten / Saint Martin – and St Thomas before boarding a plane back to Miami and our drive home thru the USA back to Canada.
It has been a fabulous adventure… that took us close to 10,000 Kms (6,000 Miles) by car thru the Canada & USA, and another 2000 Kms (1200 Miles) = 1000 nautical miles by ship thru the Caribbean Islands.
From my home in Canada to Barbados (the furthest point we travelled to) is aprox 4000 Kms (2500 Miles) or over 30 degrees of latitude… about one-third of the distance on the globe.
Truly a trip of a lifetime for us.
And one that we will forever remember fondly.
Today though it is back to reality… and bone chilling temps… -28 C with a windchill factor making it feel like -40 C (or -18 F temp and -40 F with windchill)
So hard to believe that just Saturday, I was enjoying Caribbean sunshine and 88 F weather !!
After 5 weeks on the road, I am truly exhausted (but smiling from ear to ear)… and have come home to a ton of mail, bills to pay, and groceries to buy (whatever is that icky green mess in the bottom of my refrigerator crisper drawer?).
Not to mention an absolute TON of laundry to do… and a house that looks like a tornado passed thru (who knew that in the pre-wedding / vacation process that one could generate sooo many “piles” of things in process)
Time to sort thru everything… and decide what to keep and pitch… and organize our Wedding & Honeymoon stuff… including the many souvenirs & mementos that we brought home … in ways that can both decorate our home together and mark a new beginning for us as Man & Wife.
I see DIY Craft projects in my future (will post info on that as they come about)
Then there are Wedding Annoucements – Wedding Photos – and Photo Thank You Notes to order… as well as bunch of stuff to finalize for our Back Home Reception Party for Friends & Family
So there is a lot to do around here in the next week to 10 days… (and on into Spring as we continue with our home renovations).
So you all probably won’t be seeing as much of me posting here on WBee in the weeks to come as you did pre-wedding… but I’ll do try to look in from time to time.
And I promise, that once things settle down a bit… I’ll be back with lots of stories to tell and pics to share (probably in the RECAPS Section)
In the meantime…
Because I know how much you all would NEVER let me get away without posting a photo… and no doubt there are many who are in need of their daily “fix” of Ring Bling (I post the following to wet your appetite)… taken from our Wedding Ceremony (with a promise of more to come)
PS… It truly is great to be back on WBee again !! I really did miss you all…
