I think I can officially say that i’m bitter enough right now in my waiting stage that I can’t even enjoy 50 Shades of Gray. For those of you ladies who have read it, I’ve hit a serious wall almost all the way through the second book and can hardly fathom picking up the third one.
This isn’t to say that I won’t someday be a little less bitter and a little more sympathetic to the “romance” or the sickeningly sappy pheremones this book gives off one day, but for right now? I don’t think I can do it.
Am I the only one?

It’s a terrible, awful book and there was a review somewhere that was brilliant, but this paragraph sums it up perfectly:
“Its basic message is that, given enough time, you can change someone. While I don’t have any problem with this if all you’re trying to do is help them to lose weight or quit smoking, when you’re talking about an emotionally and (dangerously close to) physically abusive relationship, sending that kind of message is both ridiculous and irresponsible.”

@MrsJenBee: Sadly, it’s not even that. In fact i got bored once they went all “vanilla”. What really sent me over the edge was not a week or two after my SO and I had a big talk and he verbalized that marriage doesn’t change anything for him (and therefore I’ve been waiting for a proposal this whole time for purely my OWN torture – I’m feeling a bit like an idiot right now) and then 50 shades of Jacked Up proposes after 5 weeks? If you read my last post about this book, you’ll know I nearly threw my Kindle down the hallway.
And then this weekend I heard they have a child? Lord help me…
(Side note – My SO and I have a wonderful relationship, this is not a bashing against that, it’s just merely a vocalization of the frustration I have because he and I view the “point” of marriage to be something very different)

Yup, I hit the wall after the second one. SO just asked me a few days ago, “When do you want me to download the last 50 Shades on the Kindle for you? Or are you taking a break from it?”
Yes, yes, I’m taking a break. Sheeshhh…..it can be hard as a waiting bee.
