Oo, I just noticed you’re UK. Check out Candy Anthony, too.

Go to Vivien of Holloway (she’s online and has a shop in london)

I’ve worn her dresses before they are amazing! Really lovely choice of fabric and price is good.

For inspiration…

Iconic Wedding Dresses of that era would be (in reverse order)… Jackie Bovier (Kennedy 1960) – Grace Kelly (Princess of Monaco 1956) – and Elizabeth Taylor (Movie Father or the Bride 1950… or any of her own iconic marriages in that timeframe = 1950 to “Nicky” Hilton, Michael Wilding 1952, Mike Todd 1957, or Eddie Fisher 1959)

Of course personally, whenever I see a Tea Length Wedding Dress that certainly sells that whole timeframe to me (having been a kid myself in that day and age).  With the Bridesmaid Dresses you have in mind, a Tea Length Dress would be perfect… then you could do the colourful crinoline thing as well… tons of fun, IMO

There are lots of tea length Wedding Dress out there… just GOOGLE – 1950s Wedding Dress – and view in GOOGLE IMAGES to see lots of examples.  Some are even relatively inexpensive, and available at retailers like David’s Bridal (they may ship to the UK ?)

Hope this helps,

Can I also suggest Stephanie James Couture and the Justin Alexander 8465. I had a custom dress made using the Justin Alexander as my starting point. The Justin Alexander felt amazing on!
