My Fiance grandparents are celebrating their 50th at the hilton next month. They are having a plated dinner and a band, I’d say it will be semi formal (I’ll probably wear a long dress or cocktail dress). What is an appropriate gift?? if this was a wedding I’d give money, but for some reason it doesn’t feel right.

Wow, congratulations to them! I know my grandparents always appreciate sentimental gifts more than grand ones at this stage in their lives, so maybe you could put together some sort of personalized photo album or keepsake locket with your FI?

Bump I need more suggestions.

@DanielleI: Do they have wedding china? Have any of the pieces gone missing/broken?
You could pay for a formal portrait package of their kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
You could go in with someone on a trip for them.
Buy a wine (or cheese, or chocolate or flower) of the month club.
Buy a nice engraved frame.
Tickets to a show.
A gift card to someplace that delievers in a basket with wine glasses and wine and maybe a dessert for a nice night in.

I voted gift card – to a really night restaurant so the two of them can have a romantic dinner together. I also think a framed photo of the two of them from 50 years ago might be nice. Congrats to them for 50 years!
