I love reading recaps and they really helped me when deciding where to concentrate my nickels and dimes. So I thought I’d share!
Things that went wrong-
1. My flowers weren’t at all what I wanted and what I thought I’d asked for. In the end, the only person who was unhappy with them was me. So…. I let it slide.
2. I HATED my hair. I thought I was playing it safe and got it done at a place I’d been happy with in the past, but it didn’t turn out at all like how I’d wanted. I let the hair lady talk me out of clip in extensions and I really really needed them. This is my only haunt.
3. I wish I would’ve made photography a bigger priority. I’m happy with our pictures, but I’ve been unhappy with the process. I also think that since its all I have left of the day, I wish I’d allocated more of my budget and stood firm on getting my dream photographer. HOWEVER, for the money we spent, I am pleased. Also make SURE your photographer gets enough pictures of you and your husband. I feel like we don’t have very many of just us and it makes me so sad.
Things that went right:
Literally everything else! What a great day!
Our cake was a hassle and it was from out of town, but it was SOOOO delicious and worth every penny.
Our decision to hold it outdoors, despite having to rent chairs and set them up ourselves, really made the day amazing.
Every penny I spent on my bridesmaids was worth it. Our robes were gorgeous in photos and they were very happy with the other gifts.
A makeup artist was the best thing I did. She came to my house and made us all look amazing. And my girls felt so pampered.
I really cut some significant things at the last moment. More flowers, which in retrospect, I wouldn’t have been happy with anyway, more rentals, etc. But the day of, I didn’t notice at all. Last minute koozies made my in-laws decision to buy beer cans a non-issue and my guests loved them. That was my wedding week freakout!
All in all, it was perfect! 🙂 well…. except for my stoopid hair.
