Mailed our invites today!!! We finally received and assembled them last night and then got them in the mail today. Unfortunately the post office people didn’t want to hand cancel them or take them out of my hands (as opposed to me having to drop them in the mail slot), but I’ll have to get over it.

In progress or recently finished:

  • We’ve started to make some of our music selections: we have our first dance song, intro music, and our last dance song selected. Still waiting for my dad to choose music for the father/daughter dance.
  • I have my hair and makeup trial on Saturday.
  • I have a meeting with my seamstress soon, though the shop keeps pushing the data further into April…
  • We did an almost-final draft of our program.
  • Ordered our table numbers.
  • I ordered the first part of the bridesmaids gifts over the weekend (jewelry boxes). I’m also going to buy their jewlery to wear day of.
  • We’ve scoped out escort/place cards at Paper Source which we’re probably going to DIY.
  • Gave my mom the initial approval on doing a candy bar, which we’ll probably do in place of favors.
  • Created our guestbook on MyPublisher. I’ve been having trouble with their site and haven’t been able to print it though.
  • We paid the deposits on the groomsmens’ tuxes and my dad has orderd his.

Still working on:

  • Transportation…still deciding on what we’re going to do there
  • We’re going to purchase our wedding bands soon.
  • Details, details, details.

amberback:  I mailed my invitations today too! I asked if they could be hand cancelled and the postal worker said that if I cancelled them myself then I could so that’s what I did. Happily for me I only had 20 invites to cancel 🙂

Whew! I’m getting married a week or so before you. Time is really flying huh!!!!

im pretty much in the same page as you but Ive paid off nearly everything. I just haggled down the cost of my officiant and also of my MUA. Can’t believe how expensive officiants are, omg…but seems I got the best of the best off weddingwire reviews. So I’m ok with what I spent. ($200)

Flowers we don’t need any for decor so I ordered high quality silk bouquets and bouts. Already got them. I don’t trust etsy sellers to get my stuff to me on time so I got everything done crazy early.

Im buying my veil off craigslist and am meeting the girl on Saturday. Nearly a 100% discount from the original sticker price.

Really all I have left is the honeymoon, planning activities for my Out of Town guests, getting out marriage license…and…making our wedding cake (I’m a baker).

So I ran into a snag with my seamstress (haha). She works part-time with a bridal shop, the owners of which apparently have a problem with the fact that I am not purchasing there – which obviously they knew when I made the initial appointment. Despite the fact that I thought I was making this appointment to see what had been done, the woman hasn’t even started yet (!!!!) and they’re really pushing me off on making my next appointment. So my mom is going to go pick up my dress and take it to another shop.

Luckily there isn’t much to be done – just adding sleeves and bra cups and maybe sewing on a sash if I ever find one.

ela0919:  My seamstress worked at a bridal shop as well. The shop is not involved at all in our dealings. I go to her house for fittings.

Ticked off hair and makeup trials this weekend – very happy with both.  The MUA put false lashes on me which was the only thing I didn’t like – they were just too long and didn’t feel like me at all.  She said she can use shorter ones and fewer of them (individual lashes) which should be much better. I don’t actually have a pic if my hair but for fun here’s one of my makeup:

We had a second meeting with our venue, which to be honest I think we could have done over the phone or by email, but never mind, the room was set up for a wedding almost exactly the same size as ours so it was nice to see it looking beautiful! Oh and we sorted out with both groomsmen what they need to get and now all I need to do for them is get their shirts (buying them for them, they’re providing their own black suits). Getting there!

I’m getting married on May 30th! We are almost done with RSVPs (needed them early because the wedding is on a Yacht and they needed an early passenger manifest).  Need hair and makeup still, and flowers.  All else is done!

I ordered a possible ring-holder off eBay a few weeks ago (my six year old nephew will be our ring bearer so I want those suckers kept safe!) and it arrived today – I’m pretty pleased, considering it cost me all of $4! While not going overboard, books are a common theme running through our wedding and we’re going to the UK on honeymoon so it was perfect! I’ll have to put something inside it so the rings don’t rattle round.

Got shirts for the boys sorted out at Easter as well (braving an outlet mall on a wet day during Easter was not the smartest thing I’ve ever done!) so there’s very little left on my list now…eek!
