My dad and my 12 year old cousin are running a 5K on Friday morning. Since I can’t drive and I’m spending the night at my pops’ house tomorrow, they invited me to join in the run. Before I could decline, my pops said he’d pay my entry fee. CRAP!!! Okay so I guess I’m running. I haven’t ran in a few months so this should be fun, not to mention now I have to make sure I don’t over eat tomorrow, the one day I deem all food calorie free (what a waste).
I always said I’d rather run myself over with my own car (as if it is possible), then go shopping on black Friday and I’m guessing running a 5K in 30 degree weather at 7 am on my day off is pretty close to that.
So my 57 year old dad runs 3 miles in 26 minutes and my cousin is on the track team. I’m positively sure they’ll be waiting in the car for me to stumble my cubby ass over the finish line. Hey, at least they can warm the car.
I’ll let you know Friday afternoon if I survive.
If you’re not shopping on black Friday, what are your plans?

You will do fine! It’s all about finishing, who cares about the time it takes!
I think I am doing my shopping tomorrow so Friday will be a lazy day!

The day after Thanksgiving, we cut down our Christmas tree and put up all our decorations. I actually might like the day after a little better than Thanksgiving, lol!

@Mrs. Spring: That sounds fun, it is an awesome family tradition! I haven’t had a tree in years, my cats would have it on the ground in point two seconds.

@knvprincess143:You’ll be fine! There will be plenty of people who are a lot slower than you 🙂 I’m running a 5k Turkey Trot tomorrow morning!
We are going shopping on Friday early early morning but we’re usually done by at least 10am so after that we’ll probably snooze on the couch with some movies 🙂

@Running Elley: Woohoo! Im running a turkey trot tomorrow morning too with my brother. Im getting pumped 😀

@knvprincess143: Just think of your Thanksgiving dinner as carbo-loading 😉
Just get your mp3 player ready and you should be just fine. Good luck!

Oh man! I couldn’t do that! 🙂 Good luck!
We are actually moving – we planned on moving next weekend, but the manager is giving us the last bit of November for free, so we are moving his stuff and most of the heavy furniture.

@MsNarwhal:Yay!! Turkey trotters unite LOL. This is my second year doing it and my sister and Darling Husband are running with me. I think we have my mom convinced to walk it too. It’s so weird, it doesn’t seem like it should be tomorrow already! When I was typing that in my original post it kind of surprised me!

Now doing it tomorrow morning sound like a better deal. Then you get to go home and load up on dressing and pie. I guess I can just look forward to leftovers and Lifetime movies after the run.

Finished our trot! That was hell and felt longer than 5k..I regret not training more -.-

Good luck! Just think of that extra piece of pie that you’ve earned afterwards. 😉

@Running Elley: I did the Turkey Trot in my area this morning! WOOHOO! Now it’s turkey time!
OP, you’ll do great I’m sure! My goal was to do the 5k in under 45 min and lo and behold, I did it in 35.05!

@knvprincess143: LOL! I’m glad it’s you and not me! I think IF I did make it, I would be crawling over the finish line in Slow Motion. Update us. And yes, they should at least warm up the car!
