Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here. I have been searching for threads on this topic but I am having a hard time finding examples of a 6.5 or 7mm cushion cut on a 4.5 ring finger! My boyfriend is in the process of designing my ring and I am so undecided as to what size stone I want! I love the look of a large stone with a thin band and I am not interested in getting any type of halo. I would love to see examples of your rings and get some feedback to help me make my decision!

Are you me? Lol I actually just got engaged a couple of days ago and have been spending months doing the exact thing as you. I have freakishly long fingers but am also a size 4.5 so it has been difficult trying to find good references. I also actually hate the look of a Halo so that just made it harder! Here are some pictures of my ring! It is a custom cut and setting, 9×7/2.4 carat crushed ice elongated cushion from Yasamine and is in a platinum pave setting with about .5ctw diamonds. Even the prongs have diamonds! I think it’s a great touch without having a Halo. Please let me know if I can help because I totally get where you are coming from!!

My ring is a size 4.75 and I have a 7.5mm cushion moissy.

I also have a 7mm sapphire cushion RHR. Here is a picture from when I couldn’t decide between 7.5 and 8mm and tried to use my sapphire as reference lol.

skyward : cushion diamonds face up smaller than you’re traditional round so i would personally go for the larger stone.

mmadmire : Beautiful! Your ring is very similar to the one I have in mind! Do the pave stones ever bother you or is it pretty comfortable?

vikingbride89 : Thank you! That is what I had heard, I had originally told him 6.5 and then when I did a little more research I realized that a 7mm might be more my style. know next to nothing about rings so it’s a little challenging! lol

mel2 : I love your ring, I actually just started to fall in love with cushion cut because I wanted something different than the usual round stone and all of these gorgeous rings are making me confident that it’s the right choice!

Just commenting so I can follow! My husband agreed to let me get a three stone anniversary ring and it will have a 7mm square cushion in the center and two 4mm rounds on the sides. I’m a size 5 on my right hand but a 4.5 on my left so I can definitely compare once I have it. Here’s the CAD of it. I’ll comment again when it comes!

mel2 : I just saw on another thread that your ring is from Tianyu gems! That is where my boyfriend is looking into getting mine. To be honest I am a little skeptical about it because the prices are too good to be true, but your ring is gorgeous! How was your experience with them and have you had any issues with your ring? My biggest fear is that it will be poorly made and one of the stones will fall out! I would love any info you can give me about them.
