Anyone have a ring this size? I’m looking at loose gemstones and I fell in love with one, but it doesnt say the ct. size. 6 mm sounds pretty tiny to me, but I’m not very knowlegable with ring sizes. Its cushion cut, if that helps any.

@allyfally: The carat weight will vary depending on the type of stone, but the diamond ct. weight equivalent is 1.1 to 1.2 cts in a 6mm cushion.

Mine is about 6mm. It’s a 1.04 cushion. Ring size 4.5 for reference.

I think it’s a good size! This is a 6mm stone on a size 8.

My moissanite is 6.5 mm, which in that case looks like a 1 carat size round cut diamond would, IIRC. Though based on what PPs have said, I could be wrong!

Carat is a measurement of weight, depending on the density of the gem you’re looking at, the carat weight could be greater or less than a diamond. My 6.5 mm zircon is ~1.2-1.3 carats but it is a 1 carat equivelent.
6mm will appear as large as a .75 carat diamond (obviously depending on the cut and how large the table is).
