I got a 6mm rose cut forever classic CC moissanite off ebay (so pretty!!) and I’m wondering how to set it. Is bezel the best way to go for flat-back gems? Do you guys have any idea? I’ll probably wear this as a RHR or on my middle finger–any metal color is ok with me.
Here’s the moissy for reference underneath my diamond e-ring (sorry for fingerprint in the second photo):
That sparkle is hard to photograph!!

I’ve had my eye on this one from Etsy for a while. Love rose cut stones!

vhenke1: it was $60. You can bid and pay less, but I didn’t want to deal with the hassle 🙂

orangeice: agree with PPs! A bezel would be perfect! It’s gorgeous!

Make sure the underside is closed in or you will see your skin, unless that’s a look you are going for.
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect rose cut antique diamond for a while. There’s a pair of double dutch earrings I’ve been considering for a bit. How is the sparkle?

Ditto what punky said – you will either want a back, or will need to be ok with seeing your skin. One of my favourite settings is a rose cut pear

punkybrewster: it sparkles a lot! or, flashes colors a lot. I have no idea how it compares to a diamond rose cut, but the reason I went with a moissy is because they sparkle more than diamonds in general, so I figured they’d sparkle more with a rose cut. I just didn’t want anything too glassy. If you’re interested in one, the seller I got this from has a 30-day return policy. My internet is too slow to check who it is atm, but if you search for 6mm rose cut moissanite and find one for $60, that’s her (she also does 5mm for $50, and so on).
scissorgirl: that’s a wicked good point! I guess I’ll just have to go to a jeweler and see what I like better. I love those photos you linked to. Maybe I will get a back..

orangeice: Oooh, thank you for sharing! I went and bought a 5mm rose cut and two 2mm rounds to have set into a ring — so pretty. The moissanites have arrived but I am still waiting for my custom setting (ordered off Etsy) to take to a jeweler.
Have you had any luck with a local jeweler? 🙂

wicket : I know this is an old thread but did you guys end up setting your stones?? Would love to see!

oh my gosh this is from forever ago! I ended up setting it into a pendant for a necklace–I bought a very cheap silver setting and stuck it in there myself. I’ll try to take a picture later! It’s on a short dainty silver chain, just a little bit longer than a choker-style; I like it a lot!
