Oh ladies it’s finally time to write this post!! Eee I’m so excited! Mr Stormchild and I got engaged on Saturday in a beautiful part of the Worcestershire countryside (UK). It’s where he used to go on holiday as a child so holds many happy memories – he actually proposed at a secret spot by the river and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
As some of you will know, I thought he might have proposed at the secret 50s date he organised but nope! That was just a fun night out but thanks to the bees I was dressed impeccably! Haha.
ANYWAY – this weekend he had organised a cottage for us to stay in with a cooked breakfast made by the landlady next door! It had beautiful views and England finally came up trumps with a stunning misty/sunny Autumn day. We went walking along the valley where we kept bumping into friendly locals! Bless him, the whole way he was carrying a heavy picnic hamper that he’d brought specially and, unbeknownst to me, was really nervous that I’d see the ring box bulge in his back pocket so whenever he walked any distance away from me he walked backwards!
He started saying how we should eat our picnic already and I was like ‘But… it’s really early and we’ve only just had breakfast!’ Haha. So we walked back to a little secluded pebble beach on the riverside and as we were walking a Spitfire plane flew over and started doing loop-the-loops in the sky! And nope he hadn’t organised it (although I did joke that I was waiting for it to write something!) it was just perfectly timed. So I was already jumping up and down like an overexcited child before any of the REALLY good stuff happened.
I was hopeful but not expectant the whole day and as we got down onto the pebble beach I was just looking at the river thinking how beautiful it was so it was actually a huge surprise when I saw him drop to one knee!! I had planned to be really memorable and poignant about it of course but all that came out was ‘Oh my god!!!!’ and I covered my face with my hands before realising that I should probably look at him! Then he asked me the best question in the world and instead of saying ‘It would be an honour’ as I had so carefully planned I just said ‘YEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!’ Haha oops.
And we have literally been giggling and dancing about ever since. I love this man so. much!
So now you can see the ring!!!! It’s been long enough 😉 thank you for helping us to choose it. Love to the waiting bees xx
