Today’s idea isn’t that avante garde of an idea, really. It’s possibly even a bit trite:
Here’s why I like it:
-best of both worlds: starts off slow but ends up disco, so you and DH can get a nice close dance in at the end of the night AND everyone can boogie down until the last wonderous minute of your reception. As a chronically single gal who’s gone dateless to more weddings than she’d care to admit to, it always makes me kind of sad when the last dance at a wedding is a slow one and I’m left sitting, watching.
-it just FITS. Like Cinderella’s missing slipper, it’s such a perfect song to end a happy party!
So if you’re undecided and don’t mind a bit of disco, this could be the perfect song to wrap up your wedding festivities.
What are you using as your final dance song? We’d love to hear your ideas!
Tomorrow, we’ll look at Mother / Son songs.

Our last dance was…"Last Dance". 🙂 I always like the song and how it starts out slow and then gets cheerful and happy at the end.

Ours was Ive Had The Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing

Our last dance song is going to be Louis Armstrong’s "La Vie en Rose". I really wanted it to be our first dance song, but Fiance won out on that one! I told him if he gets to pick our first dance song, I get to pick the last dance song! LOL

We’re probably not having a last dance per se, but I’d like the last song of the reception to be Perfect Day by Lou Reed.

Our last dance song was "Sweet Caroline." I was a little unsure about it since it’s not really a dance song, but it’s special to us, so we went with it! During the song, all of our guests ended up making a big circle around my husband and I while we were dancing! I know it’s cheesey, but it’s one of my favorite wedding memories – all of our family and friends singing and swaying in a big circle around us!! 🙂
