Hi all, I have been married now for almost two years. I keep track of my periods and symptoms in the ‘Flo’ app and I realized last week I was late. I usually have 29 day cycles. Today is officially day THIRTY SEVEN.
Two days ago, I finally was able to run out and buy a test. I took a pregnancy test at home at lunch time and it came back negative. However, I have since read that it could be because of the time I took the test AND I took an antihistamine and asthma medication the day of, which I read can alter the test results.
I’m freaking out. I am going to retest tomorrow morning. I don’t have any symptoms per sae, except that my asthma has been HORRIBLE for the last month (out of the blue) and I read that being pregnant can exacerbate it. I’m hugely bloated and gassy (sorry if that’s TMMI!) but that could also be a PMS thing. No nausea and no sore boobs (though they might be a little bit bigger than usual).
What do you thinK? Anyone have any advice or has anyone else been here?! Help me pass the next 18 hours! Haha 🙂

If you’re that late, I would assume athsma and antihistamine wouldn’t alter it enough to make it negative if you’re really pregnant.

You must have ovulated late. At 7 days late the test would be positive. I have really regular cycles but every once in awhile would get the weird extra long cycle where I ovulated late.

Scarlett11 : I’m thinking it must be a random long period. It just sucks that it’s a waiting game!

Every woman will get random long cycles every now and then. If you really were 7 days late, you should definitely get a positive test if you were pregnant regardless of what time of day you tested (and I doubt the medications you took would affect it that much – if you were testing before your period was actually due sure, but not 7 days after). I agree with PPs that you most likely just ovulated later than usual so you’re not actually late yet, but definitely test again for your own peace of mind.

Unless you’re tracking ovulation it’s probable that you ovulated later this cycle which would make you not actually 7 days late.
Take another test if AF still hasn’t arrived in a few days!

I will just say, in all likelyhood your not pregnant BUT I tracked my cycles using temperature and KNOW when I ovulate and I didn’t get a positive test on one of my pregnancies until 17 DPO. So there is still a chance! Good luck!

About once a year I just miss a cycle (no AF one month), that could be happening to you. Otherwise my AF is a regular 31-33 days.
