Our venue supplies the tables for free, 72 round ones (as many as we need). They told us that they fit 8 guests comfortably, or 10 but are squeezed. Now everything I read online says they can fit 10-12! What would you recommend? Less tables would be nice so that we could fit more family together and obviously need less tablecloths, centerpieces, etc…
Any pictures? Experiences where guests had or didn’t have enough room?

We did 8 – 10 people at that size table, depending on how many I needed to fit. So some had 8 or 9, some had 10. Everyone fit comfortably!

My caterer says that for 72″ you can do 10-11 and for 60″ 8-9 is best.

@MrsTVLover: We were thinking of making uneven tables. Glad to here it works out nicely! It’s a lot easier than splitting everyone up just to have even seats at each table.

I have 8 guests at a 60 inch round and I was told that would be comfortably. So probably 10 would be comfortable at a 72 inch. But your venue should be able to tell you this.

It is 8 per 60″ round table. 10 at 72″ believe me 10 will be comfortable. any less and imo you will feel like they are empty

i am pretty sure that a 72″ table will fit 10. we had 60″ tables and they sat 8 comfortably.
is there any way you can go to your venue to see how the table looks with 8 vs 10 seats? even if you go to your linen rental place, they may be able to set up a 72″ table with 10 chairs for a visual effect.

We had family-style service so we needed the extra room on tables. I sat 6 people at 60″ tables and 8 at 72″ tables. Everyone had elbow room and it certainly didn’t feel empty.

i recomend that youn use 10 for a 72 inch
my mom has a reception hall with the 72 inch and we always use 10
because you want people to be confortable but you also dont want to lose space for no apparent reason

We also mixed it up 8, 10 or at even one table 7 people…but we had a big space and wanted to fill it up. I think 10 looks the best, but 8 is probably more comfortable.

5 foot tables seat 8 comfortably and 6 foot tables seat 10 comfortably

We had no problem seating 10 people comfortably at 72″ tables
