To all those ladies and gents who have crazy schedules, what keeps you going?
For me, it’s the support of Mr. G, and knowing there’s a bright light at the end of an 8 month tunnel 🙂
I “thought” I knew what I was getting into <oi vey> when I decided to start school f/t while keeping my f/t job. Granted neither my job nor school are incredibly demanding, it’s not like I’m a rocket scientist, or going to school to learn brain surgery or anything…but…the sheer amount of hours I dedicate to each task weekly is taking a toll.
I haven’t had a day off since January 2nd. I won’t have a day off until April (I forget when, but thankfully, right around my birthday) sometime.
Monday-Wednesday I get up ay 6am, wake up/work out/get ready for work. Go to work. I leave work at 5pm, drive to school, start school at 6:30. I have enough time to unwind quickly from the hellish commute and eat a little snack. I finish school at 9:30pm, and get home at 10pm (ish). By this point I am running on giddy energy. My bedtime used to be 10pm, so getting home then suuuucccccccccccccks. It takes me forever to wind down, and even if go to bed straight away, I’m tossing and turning until 11-11:30.
Thursday-Friday I just work <phew> so I’m up at 6am, home around 6pm. Thursday night I either do laundry, grocery shop/cook lunches/dinners for the week/study/do a massgae or mani/pedi (it’s part of school, and I have to write diaries of who I work on), but usually a combo of everything. Friday night is date night, although it is interchangable with Saturday if discussed before hand. Date night is MY night with Mr. G. Anything goes! Shooting range, couples massage (we massage each other, he’s an RMT), video games/board games, movies, whatever we fancy, but it’s just us.
Saturday-Sunday I’m in school. I’m again up at 6am, and get home usually around 5:30pm or so. Saturday night we usually host a games night, or go to a friends for UFC, all depends what’s going on; and I squeeze in some studying too. Sunday, when I get home from school I usually study, do a massage if I haven’t completed that module for the week, or just veg. After cleaning the bathroom. I don’t why but cleaning the bathroom is suer relaxing for me, and I love having a good long soak in the tub when I know it’s sparkling clean.
So that is essentially how my week goes. Every week. Every day. Since January 3rd. Even when I have time off from school in April, I am still working, BUT I have weekends off!!!!!! I can NOT wait to whip Mr. G away for a nice weekend in the mountians somewhere away from the daily grind.
p.s even though what I do is crazy (for now) I have the utmost respect for mothers. You guys rock!!!!!!!!
