My bridesmaids (and well, most of my friends) are in or right around NYC (I moved to IN after college, but grew up in NJ.)
I’m going in March 4-7 and staying with my sis in NY- Bachelorette party is March 6!
We want it to be 80’s themed, but want to do theme t-shirts, and do a bar crawl.
Anyone do any 80’s bar crawls and see things on the shirts or places to go they recommend? Any ideas welcome!

Hi,
I haven’t been, but you could check out the Awesome 80s Prom in NYC.

We’ll I’ve been to an 80s prom party & it was AWESOME!
Regarding shirts, you could totally DIY & make them look tottally 80s out with glitter & large neon triangles, squares & circles on painted on them. You could do something like have them all say “team bride” or whatever you want them to say and you must have the shirt rings to tie the bottom of the shirts.
And then you should totally rock the Bridal Madonna look with a poofy short veil & lace gloves! Awesome!
Heres a pic I found of a cute T shirt idea too.

OH I love the idea of doing “Team Bride” in spray paint! Would I just get really big men’s shirts for them and cut out the neck part or something?
Keep ’em coming! So excited!

Joshua Tree in Murray Hill plays a lot of 80s music and videos on the big screens. It’s a post-college/frat bar crowd though.
The Alphabet Lounge on Avenue C plays 80s and 90s music on Fridays and Saturdays.

As for outfits – you could totally DIY or find stuff @ stores like Urban Outfitters & H&M. We attended an 80s theme costume party last year, and I found my whole outfit head to toe @ in juniors sections & “young” stores. here’s FH (as magnum PI, of course) & myself rocking the Jersey Girl look.

@BlueShoes: That’s so funny…it’s definitely not my crowd! I used to go there when I first moved to the city, but no more! haha
And agree with MissMeepsie that Urban Outfitters is a great place to look! I got my outfit for the NKOTB concert there last year! (who else would carry bright blue shorts with suspenders?!)

@hotchild: I was only there once, I thought it was really cute with all of the 80’s videos! I don’t get to NYC too often π

@BlueShoes: Definitely a good choice for a once-in-a-while visit, not every weekend :o)

@ hotchild – I love it that you dressed in bright blue shorts & suspenders for NKOTB reunion! π
Just noticed that my pic didn’t show up. Trying again.

@MissMeepsie: I didn’t stop there. I had a “vintage” NKOTB shirt, glitter eyeshadow, fishnets, Wayfarers, fedora, and these RIDICULOUS splatter paint sneakers I got from Payless.
I wish I had a picture on my work computer ;o)

@ hotchild – Loves it! π Sounds like an awesome outfit. π
Not sure why my pic isn’t coming up. Let’s just say it involves red and black leopard leggings, a big red belt, plastic red sunglasses & hoop earrings and BIIIIIIIIIG hair. π

@KJpugs: LOVE Brother Jimmy’s! The ones on the UES and UWS are the best. The new one near Penn Station is too touristy, IMO.
