We eloped to Canada (we’re not actually Canadian) on 8/28/2012 and it was awesome! We made it an 11 day road trip honeymoon. H’s parents were our only witnesses as they were the only ones who could travel, but no one was upset that we eloped/had a private wedding thankfully.
We had the most wonderful, stressless, fun day!
I did my own hair and makeup. I was nervous about it. I tried to go heavy on the makeup, but as you can see it’s still pretty light! I had a hair appt at a salon that would have been somewhat of a drive away, but I cancelled it because I really wanted to do a hike on my wedding day! In fact we hiked 9 consecutive days in a row – it just happened like that. There is so much beauty to see in the Canadian Rockies.
We booked an elopement package at this lodge in Yoho National Park. They took care of the flowers, the cake, the dinner (and breakfasts), the officiant, champagne, and many other little personal touches that just made the day amazing.

@rebwana: I am so happy with how it all went! I loved that they took care of it all and were so nice to us.
I was so worried that the 1″ alteration at the top of the gown would make a major muffin top (I could not sit at the dinner table, I had to go change, it was that tight!), but it does not look bad at all! So I can stop worrying!
