After 4+ years of dating and 2 years of talking seriously about marriage, my incredible Fiance and I are finally engaged!!! Here’s how it all went down:
On the big day (Friday), my Fiance had “left for work” (so I thought) a little before 6am. He had set an alarm on my phone to go off at 6:30am. The alarm told me to look under the sink, where I found a letter. The letter said that it would be a “special day” and that I should put the books down and get ready for a “day on the town.” After freaking out for a few minutes, I got ready for my day. In the middle of it my mom called me and told me to look under the doormat, where I found another letter telling me to leave at 7:45 for an 8:30 spa appointment. I got to the spa and found out that I was having a holistic hand massage and manicure (with champagne, cucumber water, and chocolate-covered strawberries), which was amazing. Then as I was leaving the spa, the receptionist handed me another letter, which told me to go straight to the airport for a flight to an undisclosed location. I got to the airport and found out that I was going back to the city where Fiance and I met in college! To top it off, I got upgraded to first class for the first time ever (I thought that he had planned that, but it turns out it was just a lucky coincidence). When I arrived at my destination I was greeted at baggage claim by one of my best friends from college. He handed me another letter, which said that I would receive a special gift and be driven to a special place full of memories. He then handed me my gift, a scrapbook full of pictures and memories of my FI’s and my relationship, and drove me to a park, the park where my Fiance and I had our first date (a picnic!) a little over 4 years ago. As I was getting out of the car, my friend handed me my final letter, which said to go to the place where my FI’s and my relationship began. I knew to walk past the lake and up a hill, and there I found my Fiance beside a white blanket, rose petals, and a “marry me” banner. He proposed and we celebrated by drinking sparkling grape juice, just like we did on our picnic 4 years ago. It was absolutely incredible!!!
And, since I know everybody like to see bling, here’s the amazing ring!!
