- Wedding: September 2013
I thought I’d finally get around to doing a full recap of our edited photo’s from our amazing wedding day! All photos are courtesy of the AMAZING Olive Photography Hope you ladies enjoy!!
My day started at my Dad’s house, where my Maid/Matron of Honor and I spent the night. I woke up feeling pretty emotional, but also very excited!!
I had a coffee with my family while my Maid/Matron of Honor went and did a few errands for me, and then went to check on my flowers, which we stored in the neighbours beer fridge overnight. Cue PANIC attack – many of my flowers had frozen and turned brown (the green hydrangeas), and one centrepiece was frozen solid!! I shrieked at the top of my lungs, and out came running my Grandma, Grandpa and my Dad to see what the heck was going on! My step Mom was still sleeping, but she must have heard my scream because she came running not long after in her nightgown! LOL. Thankfully, we had plenty of flowers left over and were able to fix them all, but that didn’t stop a few tears from shedding!!
Leaving the flower fiasco in the capable hands of my Grandma and step Mom, my Maid/Matron of Honor and I went to pick up my Bridesmaid or Best Man, and off we went to the hair salon. We drank champagne out of green plastic cups and had a great time 🙂
Once all of our hair was complete, we did a run through the McDonalds drive through to feed ourselves (not my first choice, but the fastest since we were running late!), and then stopped back at my Dad’s house to pick up my dress, and grab a photo with their kitten, Huckleberry!
From there, it was off to the venue, Old Mill Inn & Spa in Toronto, where we proceeded to the ‘bridal suite’ to get ready… expecting a pretty room, large enough for a few people to get ready in, imagine my shock when we opened the door and it was the size of a closet, with no windows, and a tiny bathroom. Cue PANIC attack #2, as I frantically call my husband to be, and let him know that he can’t get ready in the suite we had booked for the night, because we had to, since the ‘suite’ they provide and mislead you to think you can actually get ready in, was horrible. My amazing Bridesmaid or Best Man and Maid/Matron of Honor set off to do some last minute prep in the reception room, as I frantically ran to the other side of the hotel to check in to our suite, amazing photographer in tow, dress held above my head. We made it up to the suite, which was absolutely beautiful, and I left my photographer there to get dress detail shots while I went and grabbed the rest of my stuff from the ‘bridal suite’.
Finally, my maids made it to the room and we all started getting ready in the bathroom, that was actually larger than the ‘suite’ they had originally provided us!! My Mom and Aunt also came up to the suite to help me into my dress.
We then went and did First Look photos, bridal party photos and family photos before the reception started. (sorry these aren’t in order!)
Then it was time for the ceremony to begin! I was hidden away in the ugly bridal suite for the half hour or so leading up to the ceremony, where my girls and I had quite a few laughs before our Day of Captain came to collect me. My nerves and emotions were on high at this point, and I couldn’t stop the tears of joy from streaming down my face (who am I kidding – I was crying all damn day LOL!)
And finally, it was time for the group photo, followed by a few more of just us, and then party time!!
I hope you all enjoyed! Sorry for the large size of the photos 🙂
