- Wedding: September 2014
Our Wedding Story:
Darling Husband and I met back in 2007. I was working a part time job while in college, and he happened to work at the same place. After 3 months of flirting back and forth. I asked him out. We have been together since. In Late 2009- We welcomed our beautiful daughter, and that kind of put any plans of a wedding out of the picture for a while. We had to focus about moving into a much bigger place, and raising our daughter. Since finding out that we were expecting Darling Husband was under the impression that we should just go get married- and it was my thought process that I wasn’t going to get married just because we were having a child together. I am a modern woman after all. He asked me several times to marry him over the next few and I told him that I loved him deeply, but I was not ready. I was finally reading in the Early 2014- and we were married the September 2014. All of our family members sighed *FINALLY* when we announced that we would finally tie the knot. We knew of the exact place we wanted to get married. In the Fingerlakes Wine Region. Over the years we have driven down to the area and found that it was ideal natural beauty.
We extended the invitation for our wedding weekend to 30 of our closest family and friends only. Our actual attendence was 19 Guests. We arranged accomodations for all of our guests at our Bed and Breakfast Venue- a historic 200 year old home in the tiny finger lakes town of Interlaken NY, population 674.
Our budget was $6,000 and we were just under budget. We had no bridal party. My younger brother served as Ring Bearer (age 9) and our daughter (age 4) was the flower girl.
The day of our wedding it was forecaseted to thunderstorm pretty much for the majority of the day. It did rain for most of the day, but it cleared up right after the cremony. Luckily my dad had a white 12×24 tent, and a white12x12 tent. he set those up the day before the wedding. And the day of the wedding my SIL and I added Christmas lights to the permiter of each tent.
My Darling Husband and I decided not to see each other for 2 days before the wedding. We did not have a first look. I went up to our venue Early Friday morning and did not see him until our 4pm Ceremony start time. I would not have it any other way.

My aunt had made me the gift card box. She actually took the box from her own wedding and recorated it to match the rustic theme and colors of my wedding. She did a great job and it came out beautifully.
I had made my own bouquet out of silk flowers, as well as the inital letters to decorate the cake table. The bouqet ended up costing me $21 dollars and the letters cost a total of $10

For our Favors- We dried out lavendar that we grew in our garden last summer. We then made Lavendar Soy candles to give to our guests. We made slightly larger candles for the parents of the bride and groom. Total Cost of the project $30
Our invitations were a combination of online print services and DIY. Our total cost was $100 which included the save the date, response card, enclosure card, invitation card, invitation jackets, colored envelopes, and lace and ribbon card
Invitation Suite was ordered from Zazzle Origami Prints store
I purchased the Jackets/ Colored Envelopes from Paper-Source. The Riboon and Lace came from Michaels
The guest book, seating chart sign- were both DIY projects. One of the ribbons for hanging the place cards came loose the day of the wedding (we previously had used it for our wedding shower)and we left our backup hot glue at home, but we just went with it..
The frame was from michaels, that we painted with metallic paint, The ribbon was just scraps that we had on hand. The mini clothes pins and ivory place cards were from joanns. We bought everything with 50% off coupons over several trips
We had made our own guest book. We also made the sign and my mother had the keepsake trunk made as a wedding shower gift. Inside we stored matches for our sparkler grand exit as well as chapsticks my mom had left over from our shower. We used the guest book pen from my parent’s wedding.
