I don’t know about you, but a fake-out proposal would not have gone over very well with me. Depending on the manner in which it was done, I’d even reconsider the relationship (some of these are so un-loving and un-kind!).

Here it is copy/pasted:
“We were about to leave Niagara Falls at the end of our first day there, when he told me there was one more thing he had to do…Instagram
“My now-fiance made a fake proposal on Christmas day, while I was pregnant with our first child. He got down on one knee, popped the velvet box out and asked me. I started to cry with joy, only to find a big fake diamond ring from the dollar store. The worst is that my own mother was in on it. I was so furious!”
“We were having a very serious conversation over dinner about how much he loved me and how he knew he could spend the rest of his life with me. Then he stated, ‘With that being said,’ — he then reached into his pocket, which caused me to pop up all excited — ‘Holly, would you like a piece of gum?’ And he threw a pack of gum down on the table. I laughed but didn’t find it as funny as he did!”
“My boyfriend (now husband) and I went out to a nice restaurant for my birthday. During dinner, he pulled a small ring box out of his pocket. My eyes widened and I was panicking with excitement, when he opened the box and revealed a locket.”
“I was sitting down, and he came over to me, put his hand on my knee, knelt in front of me and did an awful card trick! My heart dropped in my stomach!”
“My boyfriend (now husband) and I were in Florida on vacation. He had hinted he might propose, so I was expecting it the whole two weeks we were there. One day he got down on his knees by the bed and I thought he was going to propose;he instead just wanted to ask me jokingly if we could have sex.”
“We were on a walk and he said, ‘Wow, look at this view’ and reached into his pocket and got on one knee, only to wipe something off his shoe. I started to cry, and he asked why. I told him that it was nothing, and he said, ‘You thought I was going to propose in the middle of a hike.’ I told him I did. Later that day, we actually did get engaged.
