- Wedding: September 2012
I have pin-straight, fine textured (but got lots of it) shorter hair. The longest lengths are in the front and they barely skim the tops of my shoulders. I LOVE having shorter hair, but it’s proving to be quite the dilemma when it comes to doing my wedding day hair.
I plan on doing my own hair for budget reasons. I’m a wash-n-go type gal though and not skilled with any hair appliances. Talk about an epic fail waiting to happen! haha!
So I’ve been watching YouTube tutorials on how to style short hair. However their idea of short hair has been either Michelle Williams short or shoulder length short, and I fall in btwn. Argh.
I’m thinking of…loosely curling my hair all over for texture not for curl (my hair is so slippery, i’m scared that it won’t hold any kind of updo), teasing the crown, pulling the hair all back and pinning the back in place (ugh, THAT’LL be fun). I originally wanted my veil to sit underneath my ‘do, but I don’t see how that’ll work now with the veil that I got, so it’ll prob get tucked into my ‘do towards the top. I am wearing a thin crystal/pearl headband, and thinking of putting that close to the “teased” section so it holds the hair in place but you can still see it when you look at my face.
Ok, sorry for the novel. There’s a point to this and I’m getting to it…
Does anyone have product recommendations? Fave strong hold hairspray? styler? etc? I’m doing all this on my own and will need to go out and buy this stuff to practice with soon. Like, yesterday soon. No, a month ago soon.
