- Wedding: September 2011
So I’m sitting in the airport with my HUSBAND about to go on our honeymoon, but I just wanted to give the quickest of quck recaps.
The day before it was cold and rainy, but we wake up Sunday morning to the absolute perfect weather (which was a huge relief since it’s an outdoor wedding!). I actually had slept pretty well and had a few butterfiies, but once I hopped out of the bath I was calm cool and collected. My mom, on the other hand, total Momzilla.
The girls got our hair and makeup done, but one of the stylists was home with the flu so we were very behind schedule. I’m hoping that we ended up enough pictures because of this, but I’m guessing it’s fine.
Worst part? I found out my gorgous 5 tier cake had fallen. Completely collapsed. But this was after the first look, after I had done some wedding party pics, so honestly I really didn’t care. I was able to get some funny pictures with the ruined cake, and the lodge ran out to buy some Walmart sheet cake (which everyone said was delish). I had a 2 tier gluten free cake in the same design as the real one, which lasted, so everyone got to see that at least.
We had set up smores (which were not inexpensive) but the DJ was so late to announce them, and didn’t give good directions on how to get there, that almost nobody came 🙁
OH well- overall I think it was a fantastic night. Everyone kept saying that it was one of the most fun weddings they’ve ever been to, and most importantly we had a blast. I will say that even though I’m an eater, I could hardly take more than a few bites of dinner (I had eaten earlier in the day at least) and I only had a couple of drinks. I don’t know why, it was like my stomahc was already full. But no compliants, it was a beatuiful ceremony and the most amazing day
Shedding a tear at the ceremony (eveyone said I had a movie cry- just one tear!)
