…but a proposal ain’t one! :O
So, I knew whenever me and my Fiance (whoa, buddy) set out for the lovely mountain town of Valle Crucis, NC, that there would be a proposal. Was it any less special? Pfft!
We spent Thanksgiving together, we explored the boutiques in neighboring towns (I got a new purse and some Coach sunglasses, what!) and just enjoyed each other’s company. But I wondered what he had planned!
So the day before we left, he had been talking about visiting some nearby waterfalls. Well, after we spent some time driving through the mountains (he sang “You Are So Beautiful” to me in the car :D) and grabbing some lunch, we set out to find the waterfalls. But we couldn’t find them! Poor Fiance was starting to get upset because the sun was beginning to set. 🙁
So we drove up Elk Mountain, right on the Blue Ridge Parkway, to the Elk Mountain Overlook. There were mountains as far as the eye could see! I haven’t uploaded all of my pictures yet, but here’s a Google picture:
It was SO COLD for this girl. 30 degrees! We held hands and gazed in wonder, and there was a tiny path that Fiance checked out quickly. When he came back, his shoe was untied. I pointed this out to him, and he began to tie to shoe.
He grabbed my tiny gloved hands, while still on bended knee, and said,
“I love you very much.”
Tears came to his eyes, and his breath was hitching as it clouded in the cold air. He continued:
“I thought I would have so much more to say. I had it all planned out in my head, but words simply escape me. But Torrid, I’m so crazy about you. Torrid E.W, will you marry me?”
