9×7 sounds tasteful and lovely. Of course it would help if we could see the ring….

Oval moissanites are wider and have an unusual/very splintery cut, noticably different than a diamond. A 9×7, or 10×8 are the dia equiv wt of 2.5 or 2 carats. Large sizes make it even easier to tell that it’s not a diamond.

That being said,  get what you love! If the thought of others knowing its a not a diamond doesn’t bother you, then I would go very big or go home! (10×8)

DSSS (diamond simulant shrinkage syndrome) is real! Lol

If you checkout The True Gem company on instagram, they have a ton on videos of ovals moissanites, in a range of sizes but a lot are 10×8, on a 5.25 finger (pretty sure that’s what she said her ring size it. Could also be a 5.)

rachleah :  the 10×8 will look HUGE if you’re going for a diamond look. It will look gaudy and like a ring pop. I’d def go 9×7, if not 8×6. I’m also a 5.25.

I personally would go for the smaller stone. More tasteful and less question on if it would be fake.

rachleah :  ahhh isn’t their stuff beautiful!! I’m looking to have their Nora ring done with a radiant ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

Also it looks like a 10×8 oval is almost a 3 carat equivalent. And 9×7 would be just over 2c, if that helps you decide! Sorry if it’s been mentioned already.. I didn’t read all the other posts ๐Ÿ˜‹

rachleah :  I would definitely go smaller then. I have the same sized fingers (4.75-5.25 ring size) and my fingers are small and appear long so any sized stone (even a little .25ct stone) would look decently sized on my finger. If your fingers are naturally long looking like mine then a bigger stone might look slightly costume-y depending on your demographic. Plus bigger is not always better (trust me, I had a 3.5ct stone and it got caught on EVERYTHING and I never got any compliments because it was too big and gaudy on my tiny little finger lol). However a 9×7 still isn’t small and it’s a decent enough size that without you having to say what type of stone you have, as long as it sparkles most people will think it’s a diamond, it’s less likely to be in the way, plus with small fingers it will naturally make your fingers look longer and not wider which brings out a very elegant feel and wear to the ring. It’s about how the ring will make you feel and smaller stones are more romantic.
