I did it! I cooked the bird! And it was BEAUTIFUL! Golden brown, the aroma of lemony poultry, juices flowing when sliced….he loved every bite! Considering that I am a veg and not an amazing chef….this is pulling out all stops for me!
After reading about Miss Tattoo’s amazing proposal after cooking the E-chicken, and knowing Boyfriend or Best Friend HAS the ring, I figured, this *might* move things forward!
It can’t hurt… 😉

That’s awesome! I keep putting this very same task on hold – pulling out giblets gives me the creeps a little bit, hahah..I’m such a baby.
So glad to hear that he loved his special meal – here’s to hoping he pops the question very soon!

Haha that’s great and very brave of you, being a vegetarian and all! I myself have been thinking about making it, keep putting it off though.
I’m glad it was a success. Here’s hoping that chicken brings you some bling!

E-Steak and E-bacon may serve you better =]

@izziebear: ha ha ha! ME TOO! I bought the bird and had to talk myself up all morning to pull out the gross stuff. When I finally went to do it, they were neatly wrapped up in a little bag. All I had to do was pull it out and throw it away.
There is the post with pictures and his reaction.

glad it came out well – waiting to make this once we’re past all the poultry saturated holidays – thinking February might be good, maybe for V-day dinner?
Let us know if the chicken works its magic 🙂

His words when eating E-chicken (with steamed asparagus and home made mashed potatoes): “Mmmmmmmmm! This is delicious!”
And this morning, he mentioned how wonderful dinner was last night.
Go, Chicken, Go!!!

I did the EChicken, but I have doubts that it will work for me. For one, he actually got out the giblets. And secondly, I cook homey stuff all the time. I’m not the greatest cook, but I cook the stuff a mom would make pretty frequently, so doing a roast chicken (although I haven’t made that precise meal yet) is something that isn’t so out of the box for me.
Frankly, I think one reason he loves me is for my green bean casserole.

@msnelson13: LOL I’m loved for my meatloaf…
I tried the E-Chicken last month and no proposal yet… but Solome I’m sure you will have better luck than me, especially with the reaction you got and that he has a ring already!! All my bf said when eating my e-chicken was, “So when are you making meatloaf again??”

Well… I am cooking Thanksgiving for the two of us. E-Turkey perhaps?? haha

@Solome: I made E-chicken this past weekend too! How crazy is that? LoL. It turned out amazing.. and I’m definitely not a frequent cook, LoL. I made salad, little garlic potatoes, and homemade mac n cheese to go along with it. We were STUFFED on Sunday. SO was on could nine… because.. I never cook, LoL. I don’t dislike cooking, but it’s not my favorite thing to do either. My schedule can be hectic as well, so I often have problems finding time for it.
