try the aveno bath stuff (you know the stuff you bathe kids in when they have chicken pox) its called Aveno Soothing bath treatment, it comes in packets that you add to the bath water. I think they brand it under aveno active naturals now I use that when I get hives and it does help with the itching also calamine lotion will help

I’ve got cortizone shots for hives before when I had a bad reaction to some meds. Normally you just have to wait them out though. Try not to take super hot showers or baths though as it will dry out your skin and make it even itchier! Good luck and feel better soon!

Not scratching usually makes them disappear for me–easier said than done, though! Have you figured out what’s causing them? If it’s a new medication, it can take 7-10 days for it to leave your system and quit causing reactions.

Also, make sure to wear loose cotton clothing.  When I get hives, they get soooo bad when I wear anything with nylon, spandex, etc.  I keep a few days worth of organic cotton pants and tee’s just for that purpose.  I always have had pretty good relief from Claritin Hives Relief.  I can’t always find it, and regular Claritin comes close, but I guess it depends on what caused them in the first place.

Hope you feel better soon!

Cool bath with baking soda – that was the only thing that could soothe me when I was having them nonstop last year. It was AWFUL. On the palms of my hands and soles of my feet, all over my torso, all up and down my legs – it was hell. I’m sorry you’re going through it!!!

I went on oral prednizone for 12 days, which got rid of them temporarily, but then they came back. Eventually I figured out (through trial and error) that a combination of Zyrtec and ibuprofen keeps them under control.  The ibuprofen helps because it’s an anti-inflammatory.

I got hives from an allergic reaction to antibiotics.  The doctor prescribed me medication to take a week straight and I literally started feeling better the same night.

Go see a doctor!

@GeorgiaTeacup: If she’s gotten a prednizone shot and prescription meds, she already has seen a doctor.
