Is anyone else doing your own music?  how long are you giving for cocktails? dinner? dancing?

i’m totally doing my own…i[‘m a huge audiophile and wouldn’t trust some skeevy DJ for such an important thing…hah! seriously though…no DJ has my kind of music, so i felt like i was better off to do it myself and i’ve actually enjoyed it. my reeption isn’t starting until around 8PM, so i did a playlist that was 6 hours long. since i hate doing traditional things, there really isn’t a method to the playlist at all….it’s just all the music Fiance and i love (but mostly me…hahah!)

Yeah, I started out with just a bunch of songs that we (I) like but then im trying to put some order to them since i want to make sure that people dance after dinner.

i guess it depends on how you want to pace your reception….people kinda follow suit, ya know? i guess that’s the only good thing about having a DJ…Fiance thinks we should have an MC to “lead” people into different modes/moods…but idk…we may see if a friend wants to do it and get a PA w/ a mic. i have a couple months to contemplate at least…

we are getting a PA w/ a mic and putting my Fiance brother in charge but i have a feeling that he will be having too much to drink to be responsible with a task.
