I don’t have any personal experience with using lemons, but I’ve seen it done and it looks so cute!  You can either slice them or leave them whole.  I definitely don’t think it will make the flowers die faster.  In fact to make cut flowers last longer you put things like bleach in the water.  If flowers can handle bleach, I’m sure they can handle lemon!

I love the look of lemons in the vase, and away to ease your worry about lemons turning the water cloudy… use two vases/bowls as you can see below

@crossp230:  in two vase idea, you could always have water in the lemons and the flowers, the idea is that the lemon water will not mix with the flower’s water and hopefully both will last longer.

The wedding of the Young House Love bloggers’ had lemon centerpieces, but they didn’t use florals.
