I think it should be legal for medicinal and recreational use. I’ve witnessed far greater atrocities at the hands of alcohol than I ever have with weed. It would provide a whole new source of tax revenue and keep petty criminals out of our already full prisons and save tax dollars it would otherwise cost to incarcerate some college kid who was found with a joint. To me, alcohol is far more dangerous and if something as dangerous as alcohol can be relatively successfully regulated, then pot can be as well.

That’s just me though. I’m sure there are people out there who would disagree. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well. I don’t/wont smoke it. But this is what I have said for a while.

People overdose on drugs & alcohol everyday. People don’t usually overdose on marijuana. I have heard you can but you have to smoke your entire body weight? No idea if this is true or not. Also you can’t get addicted to marijuana. Some say you can but from what I have heard and read you cannot.

I only have one issue with it.  There is NO accurate test to see if someone is intoxicated at this very moment like there is alcohol.  Darling Husband works a very dangerous job, if someone is jacked up on the job people DIE.  Until there is a test to see if that guy running the crane is jacked up or just a F*$king moron, I just can’t get behind it at all.

@tksjewelry: See, this I have also thought of! That is why I voted for medical use only & by prescripction from a doctor only!

I also worry about the job aspect of it as well. But most ppl I know have enough respect to not do it in the workplace. I mean alcohol is legal but ppl dont come into work drunk (im sure some ppl do lmao) I think it would be the same for weed as well. I dont smoke it but I dont see a problem with it. There are much worse things in the world than marijuana.

I think it should be legal for medicinal purposes and for the government to be able to control it/tax it/etc. I’m pretty sure marijuana is a cash crop in certain parts of the US and it would be nice to see some of that money go to education.

I voted it should be legal for prescription and recreational use, largely because if it’s legal it can be taxed and the damage it does (largely to mental health) can be paid for (looking from the point of view of someone in the UK where healthcare is paid for by taxes)

My dad is a pothead. He wakes up every day with a joint and smokes solidly all day every day. It doesn’t do him as much damage as alcohol but it has not helped his mental health.

@tksjewelry: What you’re saying makes complete and total sense, but at the same time certain workplaces can ban certain substances that are completely legal. I used to have a job that required we not be on OTC cough syrup, RX pain killers or anxiety meds.

I think it should be legal, expensive and taxed–kind of like weddings. It’d be a great revenue stream for the government.

No question, it should be legalized. It’s ridiculous that it’s not. If the government would just get with the program and legalize and tax it, they’d made a shit load of money and we wouldn’t be in the terrible situation that we’re in now. How alcohol is legal but weed isn’t is beyond me. Im not ashamed to say that I partake and I still manage to hold a good job and be a contributing member of society.

I think it should be legal. I would totally vote for that.
