So FI and I made a very last minute decision tonight. We are going to go on a minimoon the night of our wedding (which mind you is a week away!!!!). Thank God I called the B&B we got the last room which is super cute for the night. I’m so excited! We don’t leave for our honeymoon until 3 days later and this will be a nice way to relax.
So is anyone else doing a minimoon before the honeymoon or even just a minimoon? what are you doing for it?

We did a minimoon!
3 nights at a wonderful B&B on an island just across from the city. We could see stunning city views at night, and it was so great to be surrounded by nature. It was perfect!

As you may or may not know from my other posts, our Honeymoon was part of a much bigger vacation / adventure… with 5 Weeks off we toured thru the Southern US on a Pre-Wedding Trip, before making our way to the Florida Keys for our Elopement to a Destination Wedding… with just the 2 of us exchanging vows on a Beautiful Beach in a location we love.
So our Honeymoon (just the after Wedding part) was 2 weeks in length, and sort of in 5 distinct parts…
After the Late Afternoon Wedding we went out for Drinks & Dinner (to a romantic restaurant we love overlooking the ocean)
Then back to our Honeymoon Suite (it was our 3rd Night there). A fantastic suite… one of the best hotel rooms I’ve ever had in my life !!
Next day we had late check out… and moved onto part 2 of our Honeymoon.
The Airport Hotel about 3 Hours away, where we would relax for the day before catching our flight to San Juan, PR
Part 3 was 3 Days and 2 Nights in Old San Juan, at another fabulous hotel. Lots of pampering and romance (fabulous meals)
Part 4 was the main part of our Honeymoon… the Caribbean Cruise thru the Southern Islands. 8 Days and 7 Nights… of incredible memories !!
And the Last Part… was the legs home from San Juan to Canada… flight to Miami, then the long drive home… with a Night in Savannah, and another in Pennsylvania.
TONS of great memories… altho it was a Honeymoon in 5 Parts, I’d be hard pressed to actually tell you which one was the best, they all were that FANTASTIC !!

We did a minimoon for our wedding night and the next night at a hotel near our venue. We had one night at home before leaving on our two week Hawaiian honeymoon. It was so nice to unwind for a couple of days after the wedding without going too far away. The hotel we stayed at was about 15 minutes from our house but it felt like a world away. It is a beautiful 1920s restored hotel right on the ocean in beautiful La Jolla, California. I’d love to go back for our one year anniversary this year.

DH and I got married a month ago and we’re taking our “minimoon” the first week of June. We live in PA and are going to Gettysburg for four nights. We’re tight on cash and having a baby in August, so we want to save money. Fortunatly, I work for a hotel and get mad discounts. We’re getting a honeymoon suite for $27 a night (hollah!!) and – to be perfectly honest – while I totally want to do ghost tours and wine tasting and tour buses, if we end up staying in that hotel room watching Netflix and hitting up the indoor pool on the regular, I’m ohsookay with that. 😛 Low key is right up my alley.

We are planning to drive up and spend a week in northern CA wine country and the coast (we live in San Francisco and are getting married about 2 hours south of SF). Just staying in B&Bs or maybe a vacation rental, relaxing in the beautiful countryside and enjoying some good food and wine together. We want to do a trip to Italy the next fall once we’ve had a chance to save a bit of money.

We got married in October but did not take a honeymoon right away because we had to go back to work. However, we did have a minimoon at the Hilton hotel in Niagara Falls (near our reception venue). We stayed two nights and it was nice to relax. Even though I am from the area, I had never stayed at the Hilton or eaten at IHOP. It was fun and a nice break. We are going on our honeymoon in July.
