I know this thread has been posted before, but this past weekend, Boyfriend or Best Friend and I officially decided we want moissanite. It took some educating and convincing on his part, but I think the pricing finally got him.
Anyway, I have a few questions…
1. Why did you choose moissanite? Cost? Ethical reasons?
2. Are you happy with your decision?
3. Where did you purchase from?
4. What is the significance of the enhancement? Is it really necessary and how much extra does it cost?
Also, pleaseeee show me some moissy porn in your reply!! Thanks, ladies!!

I don’t have a moissanite but i suggest that you use the search bar to look for topics with “moissonite” in the title or browse the ring threads or miss tattoo’s started threads. You’ll find lots and lots of info there. 🙂

I chose moissanite because it’s sparkly, durable and high quality. I decided against diamonds mostly because I hate the diamond industry and how it’s convinced people to pay absurd amounts of money on a rock because it is the only “true” representation of love and the only stone appropriate for an engagement ring.
I am more than just happy with my decision! My moissanite is GORGEOUS and I am proud to say I will never buy a diamond. I don’t see the point lol.
I bought my moissanite from Moissanite & Co. I highly recommend them.
For fancy cuts and larger sized stones, the enhancement makes a big difference. For round stones though, the difference doesn’t seem to be much. That said, I haven’t seen a non-enhanced moissy in person, but my enhanced moissy (round) looks amazing and very white! At moissaniteco.com, it costs $100 per carat.
Here are some videos of my 1.5ct enhanced moissanite:

HI there! Here is my review of moissaniteco.com and pictures.
I chose it because of the sparkle, price, and durablity. I hate the diamond industry. I hate the inflated price.

Just thought I would add a video link of the 1.5ct I got in the mail yesterday. I’m thinking about returning it or at least exchanging it for an “enhanced” one ($300 difference) because her ring is a three stone setting and the two side stones (diamonds) are whiter/colorless-er. I’m afraid it will clash since it’s got a bit of a yellow hue to it in certain lighting. In the SUN however it is georgious!
Watch it in FULLSCREEN 1080P HD it definitely looks better:

Here what it looks like under natural light in my house, so different from direct sunlight (video above)

Mine is a 1ct oval Moissantie center with a diamond double halo and split pave band. 1.37 total, including the wedding band. Size 7 for scale 🙂 I would say the color rating is probably a K, it only looks pale yellow in natural sun light, almost to the point where it would be sold as a fancy yellow… The color doesn’t bother me, I think it make the ring look a little more interesting. If you are expecting a pure white go with the enhanced moissanite. I ordered thought MoissaniteCo after reading a lot of good reviews here, I ordered Sunday morning with the free 2-3 day FedEx Express option, it shipped Tuesday, and it arrived Friday. When I took the stone to have it set the jeweler asked where I purchased my diamond 🙂
Sorry the pictures are so huge and wavy, dang camera phone 🙂

@Mrs.D where did you order your stone? It it enhanced? My SO and I are shopping for a stone and I love your oval stone! Is yours 7×5? or 8×6?

@pinkpre: Thanks! I ordered through MoissaniteCo online, it’s a 1ct – 5×7. It is not enhanced, if you want a pure white I would get the enhanced Amora. It definitely looks pale yellow in natural light.

@Mrs.D: Thank you for your reply! I have been looking at the MoissaniteCo website and it helps to have the opinion of someone who has ordered from them.

@pinkpre: I’ve read a lot of good things about them. I didn’t have to email any questions or have anything custome made, I just ordered the stone and they shipped it so my transaction was pretty seemless 🙂 They have a lot of gorgeous styles to choose from, I just already had a diamond setting picked out.

@Mrs.D: your setting is gorgeous! My SO just put a down payment on my ring yesterday! We decided to go with the Oval, unenhanced Moissanite.
I’m so excited!
