Personally, I do not like online RSVPs.  I forget to respond to them because I don’t have the physical reminder of a response card sitting on my counter.  I also think older guests, and guests who are not as comfortable with the internet as most, will have trouble RSVPing.

I have seen a lot of posts about people having trouble and glitches with online RSVPs.  While there also can be issues with the postal mail, I think that people are more willing and able to check a box and mail back a card versus turning a computer on, logging on, finding a website, and navigating an online RSVP section.

@bnichols179:  That’s what we did. I loved it. It was so convenient and it kept track of your numbers so you don’t have to. There were a few older people who don’t have access to the Internet, but it let you go in and update the list or they had someone do it for them. It just seemed to work out well, plus you save on postage!

I am now a big fan of online rsvps if done well. at 10 months out and before even sending invitations, we’ve gotten rsvps from over 20% of our guests already because our RSVP is online. We sent out save the dates with website prominent and our website (glosite.com) also lets you send emails that look just like the paper save the dates or invitations and arrive in email boxes in an envelope addressed to the guest, the guest can click on the evite to get taken directly to our website. Because we sent links to our website by email instead of only including it in snail mail, our RSVP rate is great for it being so early.

Even some relatives that I thought weren’t computer savvy have rsvpd. when invites go out, we will also include a SASE with a reply card for the 15-20 guests who dont seem to be internet savvy (And who havent already rsvpd).

We also get to ask way more questions much easier since it’s online. Anything from meal choices, which hotel, if flight or hotel reservations are made, if they’ll attend the welcome event, etc. and it’s limited to the ppl we’ve invited and each guest can only see info for the events they’re invited to. Makes it easy to get rsvps for rehearsal, bachelorette events, showers, anything.

@bnichols179:  I’ve never set one up, but as a guest I love it!
