@rambmom07: How long do you want to take? What sort of things do you like to do?

You could head to the coast and then head up and hit VA Beach, DC, Ocean City, etc up to NYC and back.

Or you could go the other way and go to Charleston, SC, Savannah, GA, and then down to FL (and maybe Disneyland if that’s your thing).

YOu should definitely come up north to the DC area, especially if you’ve never been. Its awesome to be around all that power and culture. I love wandering around the museums, walk the mall, see all the monuments and learn about our history. DC is defintely a good place to go

Charleston is lovely and quaint with a beautiful beach.

DC is great because so much is free–all the museums and federal monuments.

@MrsSl82be: I agree!

There are a TON of things to do in the DC area, both lively and quiet/romantic. Check out DC and Annapolis for lots of history. There are also a lot of Civil War sites, like Antietam (if youre into that). Old Town Alexandria in VA is just plain fun to walk around! Ocean City has a lot of “life,” but for quieter beaches try Rehoboth or Bethany Beaches. Farther up the cost, NJ has a gorgeous beach, Long Beach Island (I promise you its NOTHING like the “Jersey Shore.”) Have fun planning!!
