Yup, swimming is the best. I’ve recently got back into it. It’s great on my knees!

I pretty much just alternate between front crawl and breast stroke. I used to be really good when I was much younger so I have to build it back up. These days I do about 750m in about 30 minutes. I don’t want to kill myself since we’re going 3-4 days a week and I’m not in the best shape.

I also love to swim under water.

@kaylee26:  yes! swimming slims you down, builds your core, glutes, hamstrings, and deltoids (shoulders). i swam a lot last year. i did about 250m of pull drills (using a floaty between my knees and pulling my body with my arm stroke only), 250m of kicking drills (using the kicking paddle), and then about 1000m of freestyle.

i was training for a sprint triathlon at the time but i saw results in my body after a few months and it’s so relaxing!

Definitely good for weight loss! I was on the swim team in high school, and remember eating like an absolute truck driver and still being in amazing shape.  It’s really a full-body workout.  Try googling some swim workouts, some timed freestyle 100s (4 laps in a pool), and then longer 200s or 500s for endurance.  Good luck with it!!

I swim at least once a week as a running replacement (since I’m pregnant). I’m not getting more fit, but I’m not getting less fit, either!

I love to swim! Just google “swimming workouts” and there are a ton of them. I typically do around 2,000 meters, a bit more with my master’s swim group (2,500-3,000). I just do freestyle and breast stroke, and kickboard and pull buoy.

Yes!!! Low impact, high results = my favorite workout!

I noticed the biggest body change in my loss of ‘back rolls’  and went down a bra size within a month, swimming for 30 minutes 2-3 days/week.

It also helps with my overall endurance and as an added bonus, the breathing control has helped significantly with my asthma symptoms!
