Im interested to know what kind of stuff your all doing on your honeymoons? and where are you going?
We are thinking of going to South Africa (we live in the UK), and doing some sightseeing for a while, going of safari for a few days, then onto a beach for 5-6 days.
We have both traveled a fair bit during university etc, and whilst I want some relaxing time, neither of us really like sitting on a beach exclusively for 2 weeks- we like to get out there and see and experience stuff!
So i was just interested and wondering what other types of honeymoon and stuff all the rest of you 20 somethings are doing?!

We’re thinking of Hawaii. It has the beauty and tranquility of the beach but also tons of attractions and adventures we can go on. 🙂
You trip sounds awesome!

My husband and I couldn’t go on a honeymoon because we moved right after we got married. We are going on a trip next week but it’s to the Gulf coast so it won’t be as nice as I planned.

We’re torn between a relaxing beach vacation in the Caribbean or site seeing with a day or so of beach lounging in Spain.
We’re from the US, and I must confess, I am always a bit jealous of people from the UK and Canada. It seems like it is the norm there to take 2 week vacations. Most people in the US can’t do that… I wish we could take a cue from you guys and change it!!

@Angela: I agree. Wish I could have a two-week honeymoon!

We were originally planning on going to Rome – it seemed to be the perfect mix of sightseeing, touring, and lounging that we wanted. When I was laid off a few weeks ago, our plans changed. Right now our best option is going to California wine country for a few days.
I think South Africa sounds amazing!

We, also, cannot go right away. Fiance is in the Air Force and cannot take that much leave at once.
We are planning on going to New Orleans sometime later to have a “minimoon”.

We’re going to Kauai for a week and Maui for a week. We’ve done a lot of travel around Europe and wanted to do something more relaxing for the honeymoon. We’re also the type of people who would get bored just lying on a beach for two weeks, so we are planning some sightseeing and water/nature activities.
I think South Africa would be so much fun – a safari is definitely on our wish list of travel experiences 🙂

We’re going on a Disney Meditteranean Cruise. I’m not a big fan of cruises, but we’d be at a port every day of the trip for at least 12 hours. And it’s DISNEY.
I think I can handle it 😉

my husband and I just got married this past weekend and we are leaving for Minnesota for Mall of America and the zoo there tommorow for 4 days……and camping. had to come to a comprimise since I wanted to go to the sandals resort in the bahamas or something like that but he burns so bad he looks like a lobster for weeks on end! (and I’m terrified of planes) he loves camping and I’ve never been to MOA so why not? it’s only a matter of 6 hours away or so. should be fun though. we are saving for a 1 year trip to Vegas as well
I would love to go to south africa. that would be awesome! but like I said before I’m terrified of planes.

I love your honeymoon idea. The safari idea sounds amazing.
We’re total beach bums and never get an opportunity to go lounge, so we’ll be going somewhere relaxing.

Um we are too poor to go anywhere. I’m a new grad student and his pay leaves a lot to be desired so minimooning in an ajoining state. We are planning on hitting up the art musuems, zoo, arboretum/botanical gardens, and then relaxing on a lake. I sometimes feel sort of lame when we get asked about what we are doing, but I think we will have a really good time.
South Africa sounds really cool. For most people that is probably an opportunity of a lifetime so def. take it!

We are going to Sandals St. Lucia Regency. We want to relax for our honeymoon. We are in a LDR right now and we are traveling back and forward, starting life, etc for a while now so we want to start our marriage off relaxing.

We are going on a mini-moon of sorts, crossing the Sea of Japan for 4 days, heading to Bangkok. Although if things keep up over there, we are thinking of taking a bus to a resort and not even going near the city.

I think we’re doing a safari in South Africa as well! I am ridiculously excited about it 🙂 It’s not booked yet, however, so fingers crossed! We’re the same way, also–we didn’t want to sit on a beach for 2 weeks and wanted something more active.
