At this point, stressing about it will likely do more harm than those actions itself.  If you didn’t even know you could be preg, baby is nothing more than a lump of cells and hasnt started to develop yet, so it’s fine.  Once you confirm pregnacy would be the time to make sure to be safe.

Take a test if you think you’re pregnant.  I obviously don’t know how early you would be, but if it’s too early to even take a test a baby isn’t even getting any nutrition from you, so it would be fine.  Relax.  There are tons of people who do things like this before they are pregnant and are fine.  Babies are a lot more resilient than people think!

@chercee:  If it’s still early enough that you don’t know whether or not your pregnant (aka still too early to turn a hpt positive) then most likely everything is fine! In those early, early stages, the embryo is not sharing your blood stream, so medications won’t have any effect. Don’t worry!

@chercee:  I would say to relax. Most of what they recommend not to do is not really evidence based and/or does not have a large effect size. So if 1 in 1000 women may miscarry from going into a hot tub, they will tell you not to do it. But 999 women were just fine. I would say to relax, take a test, and wish for a happy and healthy 9 months!

I agree with all of the other posters! If it’s too early to know you are pregnant, it’s very likely too early for any of those things to harm your little bundle of cells.

@chercee:  If you don’t even know you’re pregnant yet, you’re more than likely fine. Some women do this well into the first first weeks of their first trimester becuase they don’t know until after their missed period that they aren’t supposed to do something. Sometimes they even drink *gasp* But the thing to remember is whatever you do doesn’t reach baby’s bloodsteam so you will be fine.

I think in your case you need to buy a test and find out for sure.

It’s completely natural to be nervous! But baby will be fine.

Some people subscribe to “drink till it’s pink”, or that even alcohol is fine for the first month of pregnancy, when you’re really talking about an impossibly small ball of cells!

@chercee:  I’m sure you’re just fine, especiallky if you’re only a few weeks along and there was no long-term exposure. People do a lot worse while pregnant and end up okay!

If it makes you feel any better, I got super buzzed one night followed by a second night of nearly falling down tipsy the weekend before I missed my period. It was Labor Day and we were at a lakehouse, luckily the third night my instincts kicked in and I chose to skip the drinking….I wasn’t feeling quit right, more than a hangover more like I just couldn’t muster any energy.

Obviously l felt like a jerk about drinking once I got my bfp, but it was the 6th month trying and I was just over all the abundance if caution thing every month, I had decided to live my life normally. Not that I normal drink all weekend but you know what I’m saying. Had there been a hot tub at the lake house I would have been in it 🙂 I still take brief hit baths…but haven’t had a drink since Labor Day weekend. I’m not worried. 🙂

Sounds like you’re early, in which case, you’re probably fine. Especially with the meds, those don’t effec in very early pregnancies.

@fresitachulita:  That was probably how you ended up pregnant, because you finally relaxed and quit stressing about it.  I know a few couples who had trouble conceiving at first and then once they went on vacation and quit being uptight about trying, they ended up getting pregnant.  Sometimes our bodies just don’t cope with stress well, but when we let them do their thing, that’s when the magic happens!

@chercee:  You’re golden, no worries.  Plenty of people aren’t TTC and do way worse before they get the surprise, I’m pregnant! moment.  So sit back and relax!
