I love the little lace cap on the veil in your pic. Something like that but with some lace on the bottom/edges would look awesome.

You could probably have a seamstress take some chiffon or tulle or organza and sew some extra texture and volume onto your skirt.

I like the second picture.  But to be honest they both look awesome on you.

I was second guessing my dress too, it happens, but I am happy with my choice (after we made some changes to it πŸ˜€ )

I think your dress is wayyy better and really accents your body and personality! If you want something different go for it, but your dress is perfect and every single person at your wedding will have that draw dropping moment when they see you!

Your dress already has umph because it looks gorgeous on your figure!

A longer veil, sparkly earings and a sparkly bracelet will finish the look.  I prefer your dress over your inspiration pics for you.

First off, I love how you look in your dress – very va-va-voom, with the red lipstick and hair, and I imagine it’ll be even better once it’s altered to you!! πŸ™‚

I like the Vera dress too, of course, but I wouldn’t use it as a benchmark because your dress might always fall short compared to the bazillion dollar dress. (For example, the layers in the Vera skirt will always be amazing, but your dress has a bit of a different look.) Focusing on your dress alone, maybe adding beading to the sash might change your attention from the bottom of the skirt to the intricacy of the bodice, which looks like it already has some beadwork? Hard to see from the pictures. Personally, I like the smoother drape of the skirt without the petticoat in the 2nd picture, but that’s totally a matter of opinion.

Also, I like the cap-style veil in the 2nd picture if you’re going for vintage, though a birdcage veil would look gorgeous too? Maybe with some bling or feathers in your hair?

Good luck!

forgot to read the rest of the post….love it with the extra poof, if you want a little something extra stick with the bridal cap (i think thats what you have on in pic two) it really finishes out the vintage look

I actually feel like the veil detracts from your dress and the overall look (it sort of swallows you up) and would love to see you try a birdcage. I think that would look very vintage/20s and go great with your figure and the red lipstick–very va va voom, for lack of a better way of putting it. Although with your words of dreamy/floaty, perhaps va va voom isn’t really your goal.

Edited to add: Oops, was still typing when sayastar posted! But glad we seem to agree.

Don’t second guess! You look like a dream in your dress. And if you look that nice in a store pic, imagine how amazing you’ll look on your wedding day. Your dress really showcases your awesome figure and gorgeous skin and coloring. Just my opinion but I think your look really fits with a clean, almost architectural shape more than the shreddy (and IMO kind of messy) look of the Vera dress. (Also as someone who is well endowed, I can’t imagine where I would fit my chest in the Vera dress!) I think you have a beautiful 40s/50s glam look and should play that up! I can imagine you with hair like Rita Hayworth’s in her big number in Gilda. πŸ™‚

@goldendreams:

You are absolutely gorgeous and your dress makes you look amazing.  Maybe add a fancy necklace or change the flower color if you want to change it up a bit.  I like the idea of a peekaboo birdcage veil.

Our wedding has a vintage theme, and I struggled with the veil and the length etc. I tried on a birdcage veil which looked perfect with it. The dress looks fab on you with and without the belt, try the birdcage! πŸ™‚
