I’m currently packing up my house to move into my partners place next week but I can’t help feeling a little sad for some reason. Don’t get me wrong I love him and I’m excited to live with him (I also feel really comfortable at his place) – which is why the sadness is confusing me! Just having a few mixed emotions over it… It’s going to be a bit of a change.
Have any other bees felt such mixed emotions over a major life event or am I the odd one out?

Yes I did and although I was fine right up until the move. The first night of being in the house I just burst into tears. It’s just change and the “end of an era”. My friend also felt the same. She kept going back to her old house during the move to sit and cry. 3 years later were both happy! Don’t be so hard on yourself 🙂

Moving is sad! You’re leaving your old place behind, and moving into a new place to start something new. When I left my parents to live with FH, I was a crying mess for the entire week before I moved! (I’m a little…. extreme with change.) I was so happy to live with him but I was sooo sad to leave my room, and my old bed, and I wouldn’t see my parents every day… And they weren’t even moving out of the house- I still visit every weekend!
I think it’s totally normal to be sad to leave something behind.

I was sooo sad when we drove away from our rented house to move into our bought house! I cried all the way to our new home, just because we made so many happy memories in that house – I loved it! BUT!!! We get to make all new memories in out new house and get to decorate it the way we want to! Its a whole new adventure! Have fun 🙂

Moving is a sentimental time for me too. It’s exciting going to a new place but sad leaving behind so many wonderful memories of the old place. It will be ok!

My husband and I bought our house a year and 4 months ago and we are already talking about selling to move closer to work. It’s not only that we want to live closer to work, but pay off out standing debt, which we can do since we built up some equity. We also live in a large house 5bdr 3baths and its just us. All that being said it makes me sad to think that this is a possibility, but it also adds some excitement to all the future possibilities.
So, you’re not alone on feeling a bit sad. I think it’s normal to have these feelings.
