fscarlett :  +1, contrary to popular belief you don’t need a penis to enjoy scotch.

As someone who is in a relationship but happily unmarried by choice, I personally run and hide under the tables like that bouquet is a bullet with my name on it. You could be giving away a damn ferrari and I still wouldnt get in that line, but maybe thats just me!

I love the idea of having any guys and girls who want to go out for the respective “tosses”. And if someone doesn’t want to participate, then they don’t have to. If anyone has stepped on toes after that, then it’s really not your problem 😉

I’ve always thought they were super fun, even when I was single!! I didn’t even know people disliked them until I joined this site, so I would just go for it!

As long as you’re not pushing the unmarried girls to the floor basically forcing them into it (Ive seen it done) you should totally do one if you want. There’s no pleasing everyone. But like I said regardless of what incentive you offer, there will always be girls like me who feel like :

If you did this to my 62 YO aunt, she d go the ladies room,  and change her check to $2.  Go for it.

chigirl217bride :  Personally, I hate the bouquet toss and have only participated once, when I was physically dragged out onto the dance floor. I think if it’s important for you to do still do so but keep in mind that people may still not want to participate, even with an incentive. Also, don’t call people out. Believe me, everyone knows what’s going on. If they’re not out there then don’t want to be.

lovelyberylbee6 :  I’ve never heard of anyone liking them until I joined the bee. Every wedding that I’ve been to that had them people have either hid or have been coerced into participating. Thankfully, the last two weddings I went to didn’t have them and when I told people I’m not having them at mine the unanimous response has been, thank God. All my unmarried friends are either in long term relationships or single for a reason. They don’t need a game that highlights singleness.

I also hate the bouquet toss – I’ve been single in many weddings and felt like I had to participate in the toss because almost no one wants to go and I feel bad for the bride – so I go – and then I used to get pity looks and “ohhh you didn’t get the bouquet frown“.

But I really like the idea that anyone can participate in the toss and the winners will receive a gift card – sounds a lot more fun than dragging all the single ladies (and that stupid Beyonce song before the toss arggghhhh).
