- Wedding: December 2016
I feel like I have been inundating my Bridesmaid’s with TONS of information lately, and I am sure they are going cross-eyed. Things are just moving so fast in the last few months leading up to the wedding, there’s so much to relay to them. To break up the monotony of the boring informative emails, I decided to switch it up a bit tonight. To inform them of the hairstylist I booked, and to let them know prices and options, I decided to write the email in the form of a Limerick. LOL. Here it is for your enjoyment:
Sorry, it’s me again. OCD Bridezilla. LOL.
To break up the monotony on all these emails….
A Bridal Limerick
Our hairstylist is good to go,
For this task, I’ve hired a pro.
He has done all our hairs and we’ve sat in his chairs
For nearly twelve years in a row.
A friend of the family is John,
Did my hair for Homecoming AND Prom!
Hair Company’s the name and great hair is their game,
Each strand of hair he’ll dote upon.
He will drive to the hotel for us,
And create any style without fuss.
45 he will charge for up-do’s small or large,
Or 20 to blow-dry your truss.
This choice I will leave up to you,
For enforce a hair style I won’t do.
I trust you on your own with your brush and your comb,
But John will do yours if you choose!
Please let me know what you decide,
So John can choose how to divide
his staff for this day to make our hair say “Yay!”
Be it blow-out or pony on side.
Translation for the non-poetic types:
Just wanted to let you know I booked our hair stylist for the wedding!!! His name is John, he owns the salon, and he has been doing my entire family’s hair since I can remember. He’s done every single one of my up-do’s for every prom and homecoming. So, he is trustworthy and talented, and a great friend of the family. And you guys, he’s so excited about the wedding, and making us look beautiful! 🙂
He will travel to the hotel to style our hair the morning of. My mom has reserved the hospitality suite so that we can all primp together. 🙂
Of course, no one is required to get their hair styled. I FULLY trust all of you to make yourselves look beautiful and wedding ready all on your own. However, if you would like to utilize John’s services, you are more than welcome!
For any up-do (including half up, braided, basically anything other than down), he is charging $45 (+ tip). If you’d just like a blow out, it would be less, something around $20-$25.
I need to know ahead of time how many of you would like to have your hair styled by John, and whether you’d like just a blow out, or if you’d like an up-do. This will determine the number of hair dressers he brings with him, and how early we need to get started! 🙂
Think it over, and let me know at your convenience!”
Then I listed other upcoming Bridesmaid or Best Man expenses, like what it will cost to get manis/pedis the day before the wedding, and that I would like them all to choose their own shoes to wear, as long as they are gold or some sort of metallic. I wanted them to be comfortable and have the freedom to pick out shoes of their choice, or wear shoes they already own! 🙂
Anyway, just wanted to share! I’m starting to go crazy with all this wedding planning, so I had to make it fun somehow! hahaha.
