My bridesmaid chose a Betsy Johnson dress which was super cute and she wore again. It was like 400 dollars though – totally her choice I was shocked – but there definitely are some cute dresses and if you get them on sale even better!

I bought a dress at a little local boutique for $70 the day of the wedding (big dress snafu, don’t ask) and have worn it several times since. If you don’t have any specific color in mind and only a few attendants, why not let them pick something cute off the rack?

None of the dresses I have worn in a wedding have ever been worn again, sadly. They just occupy closet space until I get around to taking them to good will.

I am trying to do my best by letting my girls choose their dresses in a certain color palate with the hopes that its not a lost cause…

I have only been a bridesmaid once, and I gave that monstrosity to Future Mother-In-Law the day after the wedding (she thought it was BEAUUUUTIFUL).  The top was off the shoulder black crushed velvet, and the skirt was grass green taffeta with pick ups.  That thing cost $200.

She wore it as part of her halloween costume this year (she was a fairy).  When I first showed the dress to my BFF, he said, “where is your pointy hat and broomstick to go with it?”  LOL.

That being said, I told my BMs to wear whatever knee length blue (any shade) dress they wanted to wear.  Two of my bms rewearing dresses they wore in previous weddings.

I got a dress from alfred angelo that I’ve worn a couple times. It was a pretty simple cocktail dress.  It didn’t hurt that I helped pick it out.  I would still wear it but it doesn’t fit anymore 🙁   It’s the Bridesmaid or Best Man only dress I wore more than once though.  Here are some pics from the wedding and then from my college graduation party.  I’d say just keep the dresses simple and that make sense to wear to other things.  Like how often are people in need of a floor length gown really?  Hope it helps!

@katiebobatie:  That dress is awesome!  I would totally wear a dress like that again.  I’m also a sucker for polka dots.

@buttontoes:I also heart polka dots! There may be a couple more polka dot dresses in my closet. I liked that dress at Alfred Angelo because my friend had her mom as her Maid/Matron of Honor and we found a floor length variation of the gown (she wanted something more mature).  It had rhinestones across that top as opposed to the ribbon sash. But it worked really well.  I had to go to a work party for Fiance and I wanted to wear it but it’s too small now Cry  (the wedding was 4 years ago and I think my boobs have doubled since then) but thats ok because it meant I got to get a new dress lol.

I have another dress that I liked but the color doesn’t really make me want to wear it again. Its tangerine and I think that the color just screams bridesmaids dress.  I liked the option of having a similar floor length dress from Alfred Angelo because now that I’m planning for my girls, one of besties has lymphedema and hates showing her legs. So since I want my girls to feel comfortable too I’m probably going to pick a dress that has long and short variations (the short girls hate long dresses…just can’t win) since I want them all to pretty much match.

I wore this dress in a wedding a couple years ago in dark brown.  I wore it again to my city’s award dinner for our industry.  I didn’t win, so I probably won’t wear it again 😛

I’ve worn this one again. I was the only member of the bridal party in this wedding (MOH) so we got to choose a dress that suited me and didn’t need to suit anyone else. Not sure if you can tell in this photo, but it’s tea length, and the colour makes it great for holiday parties and fall weddings, without it looking to bridesmaidy.

I was really hoping that my girls would wear the dresses from my wedding again, but unfortunately my cousin spilled a drink all down the front of hers (she was wasted), she’s the super skinny one, and my Maid/Matron of Honor is pregnant now so who knows if she’ll be the same size after she has the baby.

But yeah, I thought they could be worn again..
