I was just going over our wedding budget excel file I made and…. we’re a little more than $2000 under budget! Which is quite something if you ask me. Even better, I don’t feel like I really compromised too much to get here. Plus I like to think that all the little DIY things I did will just make it that much more special <3
Anyway, a few little decorations for the wedding I couldn’t really justify buying before, and the rest will be padding for the honeymoon 😉
So bees, if you found a little extra money laying around what would you spend it on?

That is awesome, great work! I think you deserve an awesome honeymoon for budgeting so well!
I had a budget miracle of sorts yesterday. At work, they were handing out annual raises, and for the first time ever I got a bonus! And the timing is awesome because we need to start making down payments with vendors. I haven’t decided whether to use it for the catering, or the photographer, or maybe I’ll start my dress shopping earlier than expected 🙂

food and drinks OR take a little trip

I would put it toward the household bills and let us just relax for the next couple of months following the wedding hoopla.

we just recently had a budget miracle as well!
Fiance and i were planning on paying for the wedding ourselves for the most part (aside from a deposit his mother made for us as a Christmas gift totaling around $250) and were on track to be around our planned budget but with little savings left to start our lives with. we were okay with that as we plan on saving a ton after the wedding.
BUT THEN we just received a beautiful gift from FI’s parents around tax time- they gave us a HUGE chunk of their return ($3,000), telling us it’s to cover the remainder we owe on the caterer and honeymoon, because they want us to have at least a small savings once we are married.
i am overwhelmed by their generosity!

Honeymoon. With all the wedding stress he and I deserve the time away just him and I to relax and be with one another

@bleusteel: Congrats! It’s always awesome when things fall into place.
@dovelovesfalcon: We’re paying for ours too! We had a nice chuck of savings though, I’ve had a saving account since my fist job when I was 17 and Fiance decided he should start saving up once he realized he was going to eventually propose.
And that is quite a generous gift! I’m sure you’re over the moon!
