The second setting looks like lady parts to me :/. So I like the first one better.

what does the second one look like from the top? I think it’s really not cool that that jeweler talked you out of buying the setting from the other jeweler. His reasons sound ridiculous the gallery would def not fall out! And the prongs are NOT going to make your center stone appear smaller. I actually have a friend with a gorgeous setring a lot like that one with the diamonds between prongs and all over and it was the first time I had ever seen a ring like that I was really blown away by its beauty! I think he persuaded you guys to buy a diamond and setting from him and made those reasons up if you get it and still aren’t satisfied I strongly suggest taking it back and just being honest that you love the center stone but just aren’t satisfied with his setting and would like a refund on the setting and get the one you can’t get off your mind and don’t let him try to talk you out of it or feel dumb which many jewelers will do. I’ve been through the same thing I got a simple solitaire and really wished I had gone with my dream halo. It costed my husband a $300 restocking fee but I got my beautiful halo ring that I couldn’t get off my mind. I really believe a woman should be in love with her ring with no envy or regrets!

I think you made the right choice! I think ornate rings are gorgeous but they are so high maintenance and I think you’re jeweler was correct about having more stones to worry about with the 2nd setting. If anything you can get an ornate RHR? Or wedding band?
*Add: And don’t ever applogize about getting caught up in the bling. We’ve all been there at some point and it’s OK Lol 🙂
