My sister (maid of honor) is planning a couples shower for me and my fiance. Anyone else doing this? Is this going to backfire because men dont necessarily like “Showers”?
Have ideas? The party will be held in the park with both guys and girls invited (sort of just like a backyard bbq)

This is what my Maid/Matron of Honor (my sister) did for us. We had a lot of fun. If your crowd is anything like mine, make sure there is beer and lots of food. It was more like a regular party than a wedding shower (except people brought gifts–haha). 🙂

That’s what we did. Most showers in my family are couple’s showers. Just like any other party but with the addition of opening gifts. It was totally fine.

I secretly wanted that, but still grateful for the women I got to celebrate with :].
We just went to a baby shower this past weekend with men & women! DH didn’t want to go, but it was his friend that invited us & I wasn’t going alone haha. He ended up having a blast & won a contest [who drank beer out of a baby bottle fastest]!
I think you would have a good turn out of men & women if your crowd likes parties basically!

The only “couples shower” (we just said “co-ed”) I went to was a blast! It was a backyard bbq at the bride’s father’s house. We ate burgers and hot dogs, drank beer, and played yard games like cornhole and croquet. At some point we all crowded into the house and watched them open gifts. When that was done the bbq continued. I really enjoyed it, and so did Fiance.

YAY! Thats exactly what I want, nothing fancy just a good time with friends and family. I cannot wait 🙂

We went to one recently and it was great! It was not your typical girl baby shower (nothing against them- I’m having a ‘girly’ shower myself) which is probably why we enjoyed it so much.

That’s what we’re doing! Lots of food, a bar and fun. No “bingo” or games and definitely no running around wearing toilet paper…The all-female bridal shower is the complete opposite of my particular personality so a co-ed shower is much more fitting for me/us. Do whatever makes you most comfortable! 🙂
