I will be the voice of dissent for weight watchers. I found it exhausting to keep track of my points, and I would often “cheat” and eat bad foods because they were tastier than “healthy” foods (low points, lots of food) but were the same amount of points. for instance I would eat a small piece of cake because it was 6 points, but I could have eaten a bowl of cereal, a cup of milk, an egg, an a ton of fruit for the same 6 points. Most times, I chose the cake.
I know you’re probably going to think “not helpful” but what motivated me was an extreme come to Jesus wake up call about my weight. I didn’t fit in my graduation gown. The huge poofy black garbage bag sized thing was tight around my belly because I was so large. I didn’t have time to get a new one so I looked horrible in my graduation pictures and was so shocked to the core how heavy I had become. From then on I just made sure I ate fewer things, more healthy things, lots of water, limit carbs. I haven’t eaten potatoes in months, I buy red meat maybe every other week, Fiance and I don’t keep sandwich bread around. He helps keep me accountable. There is no diet except lots of fruits and vegetables, low carb high protein, and if I want sweets or bad things I eat a tiny amount (half a serving) of the BEST sweets. So if I want cookies, I don’t eat store bought nasty dry ones but I make delicious ones, eat two, and give the rest away to coworkers or friends.
I’ve lost 45 lbs since July, and another 35 to go!
