So bees, after waiting to get engaged, did you or do you ever feel….LIKE YOU ARE (OR WERE) JUST WAITING TO GET MARRIED!
Even though I have 8.5 months untill our wedding date, nearly everything has been purchased or booked!
I bought and have my dress (got it at sample sale, so I took it home that day), I have booked the venue, dj, photographer, caterer, bought decorations, designed my flowers (DIY), my centerpieces have been purchased, Save-The-Date Cards are out, invitations are ready to print…etc.
Sure there are still a few small details, but I really only need to buy a pair of shoes and finish writing the 15 minute ceremony with my aunt who is officiating. I didn’t plan to be so ahead, but I thought some of it would take longer and I have been getting great deals along way.
Part of me just wants to get it all over with tomorrow because I am feeling so impatient!!
Thank goodness we choose to have a shorter (about 11 month) engagement. 🙂

I felt like that for several months. We had a 22 month engagement and at the very beginning we made a lot of decisions then we couldn’t really do anything for about a year. About 8-9 months before the wedding all of the final decisions were made and the big purchases and bookings were done. Then I had to wait until the last 2-3 weeks to make things like escort cards (after RSVPs came in) and favours. It was really mostly just small spurts of being able to be productive and lots of wait time. I kind of wish we’d only had a 9 month engagement instead or maybe even less.

I feel that way. I don’t know how I’m going to wait another 6 months. Uhhhhh. 🙂

We’ve been engaged for 2 years now and will be engaged for another 20 months. To be fair we did set a date…twice…and postponed…twice…because of things that were out of our control. Most recently his mom passing away. Our last date was set for this past Sept but it is what it is. So I went from having mostly everything planned back to waiting until I can book things again. We also changed our minds about the decor, colors and a few of the flowers after changing dates this last time…oh and I ended up buying a different dress after having dress regret.

Not at all, our engagement has flown by! We’re less than 100 days out and I’m freaking out at how much is still left to do.

@MrsWBS: Out of curiosity, how long is your engagement?
I am sure once I get closer, I will start to panic and have more things to attend to, but right now were are about 270 days out and it feels like it is so far away…

I’ve felt like that. I got engaged in 2010 and won’t be getting married until 2014. I don’t have everything booked yet (I had a venue but had to change the wedding date) but I feel like it’s taking forever. I know that it will go by faster than I thought. I will probably have everything finished around 6 to 8 months before the wedding too so I’ll probably do a lot of thumb twiddling.

Totally. We’ve been engaged for 8 months, and now that things are REALLY starting to fly by, I’m still so impatient! I am kind of glad to have the holidays over. Now that those are done, I was able to buy a lot of little things, we will soon be booking the other half of our vendors, and then we can relax for a minute before diving into the details. Only 4 more months, only 4 more months…
