Without the Disney World prices? Since it’s a renewal and not an actual wedding, it seems like I would be paying ridiculous prices for some of this stuff… The ‘cheap’ options are $5,000. I’m pretty sure I can find a photographer, cake and bouquet for cheaper than that on my own. The real big issue is where could we perform the ceremony? Is there any where in Disney World where it’s not completely packed? I’ve never been but desperately want to go Hubby has and loved it. It’d be a perfect place for our renewal, but I didn’t even spend $5,000 on my wedding! Thoughts? I don’t know how prices will be in the next two/three years, but I can’t see them going down :/

Have you checked out the Memories collection? http://disneyweddings.disney.go.com/weddings/florida/escape/memoriespackage/detail
It is $1,991 and is available until April 2012. You could also look into a wedding at the Swan/Dolphin…which I’ve heard are cheaper.
I wouldn’t try to have an unsanctioned wedding on Disney property, as you risk being kicked off property or banned. You may also find it difficult for vendors to contract with you if you are not going through DFTW or the Swan/Dolphin.

@SnowPeony: just curious when you were thinking of getting your vows renewed?

@DisneyBride2Bee: Hmm but I don’t think I can get in trouble with a vow renewal, since they don’t offer services for this specifically? There will only be about 4-7 of us, no officiant (best man will preside). But you’re probably right, it would be hard to get in contact with vendors/find a place. I wish the memories collection lasted longer! It’s perfect 🙁
@SweetRose2011: In the spring of 2014. A long ways away but we may move it up a year if we move earlier than we are currently planning. Right now we’re all over the place with ideas so I want to set a location at least 🙂

So as a former Disney employee here is my insight. You have to go with a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding (which the memories collection that someone else listed is a part of) if you wish to have it on Disney property. You cannot go into a Disney park wearing a dress that resembles a wedding dress, or try and have a ceremony. They wont let you in, and my guess is they will probably try to disrupt the ceremony if they see it taking place without a company escort.
There are a few exceptions. The Swan and Dolphin resorts are on Disney property but owned by another company. You can have your wedding/vow renewal here the basic package starts at $1,500 and you can add other options if you’d like. For information on the packages you can visit http://www.justmarry.com.
Shades of Green also has weddings on their property. Shades of Green is not operated by Disney, but again on Disney property. I don’t know what their pricing options are exactly but I heard that they are also affordable.
My fiance and I met working for Disney and want to do a wedding there as well. If we go with that option we’ll probably be having it at the Swan and Dolphin to save a few thousand on our wedding. Disney Fairy Tale Weddings can be absolutely gorgeous, but like you said 5,000 is a pretty hefty price for a basic wedding or vow renewal.

I just wanted to chime in to say that to have a Shades of Green wedding, either you or your husband have to be/have been in the military, or be sponsored by someone who is/was in the military.
