Up to this point, much to my dismay, my fiance has had very little involvement in the whole planning process. And everything he’s done has been due to my haranguing him into action. Until this weekend. I decided to do the fantastically awesome Mrs. Guinea Pig escort flowers. This weekend, my fiance helped me fold 384 flower petals (halfway there – woo!) and trim the tips off a bunch of them while I started the gluing process. He’s working from home today, and while he was on a conference call, he finished gluing the rest of the petals. And throughout the entire process, much to my amazement, not even once did he question the wisdom of spending this much time on escort cards.
Hopefully this trend doesn’t end, because I have some wonderful ideas for our programs, table numbers, and Out of Town bags … 🙂

That is AWESOME! I hope my honey gets possessed by that angel too at some point, it sounds like a fun way to bond while getting ready for the biggest day of your lives. So romantic!

How exciting!
You never know when the guys are going to step up. Like Mr. Sewing, my now husband loves the Cuttlebug. He made all the Rehearsal Dinner invites and thank you notes. And helped me make a couple dozen boxes for chocolates.

That is so sweet! Mr. Parfait helped with my paper projects—I think out of pity, after coming home to find me in piles of scraps every night. : )

I’m stunned – I got home yesterday, and he was still all gung-ho! He assembled a bunch of the actual flowers from the petals he had already glued, and was super-enthusiastic about folding more petals once I got the origami paper cut. (He claims that he can’t cut in a straight line, which is why he didn’t just cut the paper himself.)

I see I’m not the only one who has caught Mrs. Guinea Pig’s escort card ‘bug’!! My Fiance has actually tried to pitch in and help me with this project too (even though he thinks I’m semi-insane for having to fold 1000 sheets of paper). He did help me slice the sheets though.. but I think I’m assembling on my own. =X I need to warm up my ‘puppy dog’ look… heh heh..

Oh god I wish!
My FH can be quoted “Can’t we just send out a mass email & have everyone forward it? Or wait! If it’s creativity you’re looking for why don’t we use SMOKE SIGNALS!? I think everyone would be impressed by our ability to use such a ‘traditional’ method of communication in the digital age!” (insert smart alec grin here) And that is just his opinion on STDs or invitations, let alone other paper DIYs.
Kudos to everyone who’s making headway on such an intensive DIY! I saw the escort cards on the blog and thought they were awesome, but way beyond my one woman assembly line.
